Nick, I would love to be a part of this group. I am working as an Associate at Edison Venture Fund. I travel to the area twice a month with flexible timing on the trip dates.

Has anyone seen a poster indexer? For example, tell me the URLs of every commenter on techcrunch. This is a great source for finding new blogs but currently is too manual a process to research..I would guess 50% of commenters on techrunch link to their own blog in their comment.

I would love to see a section where you can keep track of game results, mvp awards, trash talking, media....I realize some of this is covered but it would be better if the site had more of a CMS type feel and gave you myspace like reign on the design.

very interesting. $10M must be top line and not net revs.

Almost the opposite of what restaurant.com does.

Sam, this is a great post. I think you nailed it. Funny though that groups is not why people sign up in the first place...needs a name for this strategy.

Also, groups is a plus in the war from a SEO perspective

in Evolving Social Dynamics: Media Consumption Patterns and People Skills on Leveraging Ideas
I think they have greater people skills, much greater. Online has increased dialogue for kids and this persistent communication puts everyone in a glass house where their self awareness is continually challenged leading to higher level of maturity. Personality is more defined now as online increases the definitions of identity market and takes a larger % of the identity pie from situations in the structured school environment.

in E-commerce 2.0? on punctuative! by Matt Winn
I agree with all of these because I think ad spend is becoming less efficient as there is more competition in the keyword longtail and also in more generic terms as more companies use adwords and the large public companies pump big dollars into online ads. Plus, attention is harder to win over. Personalization / RSS etc. is making for higher switching costs , leading to less browsing.

Matt, great stuff. I too am a data junkie and have started to mock up some great stuff for entrepreneurs based on their markets. I will ping you with the links once I get them cleaned up.

Btw, I heard Walmart wanted to place a store on George Washington's boyhood farm. It never went through; partly because there was another Walmart store 15 miles away!

in PayPerClick Venture Marketing on punctuative! by Matt Winn
Matt, I know Union Square also uses Tacoda, but most likely because Fred seems to love being hands on with technology and Tacoda is an USV portfolio company. Not sure how useful Tacoda network data is too USV. I would guess some of the most relevant internet advertising is on portfolio company web pages where VCs are listed as investors and or directors.

What would be interesting is if someone threw up an Adify VC branded CPA network. Click to call definitely wouldn't be appropriate. Perhaps click to blackberry:)

in WhoToTalkTo Launches Job Exchange System on Rev2.org
Forget my last q, it seems you can post your own jobs. There is too much competition and too little traction here - check out h3 and yorz.

I think it would help to show the size of the marketplace on the front page (even if its quite small). otherwise i get the perception there is NOTHING on the site.

It will be interesting to see how many "referrals" are actually jobs at the poster's employer. I am curious if this is encouraged at WTTT?

this needs to be tied into the recruiting process. partner with trovix or something to add relevancy to VP on a resume.
