It's still too early for predictions but the '08 elections are shaping up to become the GOP's worst nightmare. Not only does retaining the White House appear to be a pipe dream but the bloodiest Republican carnage will come in the House and Senate.



It'll be like the GOP's own private Hurricane Katrina.

Any way you look at it McCain has a tough row to hoe because he's following behind a fellow-Republican who is perhaps the most hated man to hold the highest office. George W. Bush as done to the GOP what no Democrat could ever have - he's undermined the entire party to its very foundation.



So something good may come of his miserable years as president.
