in Could the US TV Audience for EPL Surpass UK? on EPL Talk
I for one hope the EPL does not make it to ESPN in the states.
For the occasional criticism of Fox Soccer Channel, they are finally getting a lot of things right.
I enjoy watching the games without the annoying scroll bar at the bottom giving results I really don't care to see.
I also fear ESPN would be tempted to "Americanize" the sport or "dumb" it down to try and appeal to larger masses (meaning via annoying graphics, etc.)
I actually am glad the EPL is not totally mainstream in the States -- I can enjoy the excellent coverage via Fox Soccer Channel / Setanta, not worry about results being spoiled if I've recorded a game for later viewing, etc.
Let's hope it remains that way.

in Graham Poll Interview on EPL Talk
They recently had a feature on Graham Poll during Premier League World that was very interesting.
I'm very interested in purchasing the book, yet can't it available in the US (trying to avoid int'l shipping).
Any ideas how / where to purchase for US residents?
Thanks

in The Gaffer: It’s Good to be Back on EPL Talk
Gaffer, good to have you back - I'm really glad to hear you're OK and best wishes for continued recovery -
You have a fantastic site and it really makes being a fan of the Premier League fun.
By the way, if you go back and watch one highlight from the past weekend... make it the Liverpool - Aston Villa game -- Gerrard's free kick was absolutely stunning...
Keep up the great work.

in MLS Clubs Taking Advantage of EPL Fans in States on EPL Talk
Gaffer, you are correct in your assessment overall...and I agree it is a disservice to fans.
But don't be surprised if in a week or so they open up the games to individual purchase on the internet.
Personally, I was just extremely happy they offered a $55 package for 3 games - Everton, Boca and one other MLS game. This is a very reasonable price considering what others are charging for just one game (ie Aston Villa at Toronto).
The Everton and Boca games are only 3 days apart - and so I'm sure the front office is banking on people wanting to attend both.
I am also sure I've seen listed prices for those individual games, (cheapest at $30 per game), so even though you can't purchase on the website, I bet if you call the ticket office you could buy an individual ticket that way. Worth a shot at least.
I'll be attending both games and can't wait for July to arrive.

in 07/08 Premier League Fixtures: All You Need to Know | EPL Talk on EPL Talk
Gaffer, is it too early to speculate that all of these match-up with be on Setanta and not Fox Soccer Channel?
Thinking that FSC still gets the Sunday prime match-up but it appears all the big games are on Saturday ---
