The fact that you excuse illegal behavior by justifying it with "they are here for a job." is disturbing. Do you justify the rape of a woman because the guy was only horny and a bit angry or do you justify bank robbery (or the robbery of a liquor store) because the poor guy was only trying to get money to buy food to feed his family?

The fact is, regardless of any other thing, she and all her fellow travelers were here ILLEGALLY. That makes everything they were doing here ILLEGAL. She is working ILLEGALLY. I don't really care why she came here. If it is that important to her to come and get a job she should do it the legal way, as have many throughout the years.

Justifying ILLEGAL behavior is wrong. Rewarding ILLEGAL behavior is worse and punishing a LEO for doing his job is unconscionable.

I actually pray that one day this prosecutor is getting beaten and robbed and as he is getting the hell beat out of him (preferably by ILLEGALS) the cops show up and tell them they don't want to do anything that might offend the ILLEGALS and land them in jail. They could then just stand around and watch this ambulance chasing weasel get stomped into a pile of goo.

I am no fan of police officers. I have my own opinions and I think that if they do something wrong they should get more jail time than the average guy. But I will defend them each and every day they do their jobs and do them correctly. These guys are targeted every day and when they do what they are supposed to they get prosecuted and that is the real crime here.

As for the lady, she was where she was not supposed to be and she got hurt. That is a lesson that you learn from childhood and that sentiment should be ringing in your ears in your father's voice. I can remember my dad on more than one occasion saying If you were where you were supposed to be that would not have happened. Incidentally, they did not put my dad in jail for doing his job as a parent.

I have no sympathy for someone who gets hurt through their own negligence and blatant disregard for the law regardless of their reasons.

I do not equivocate rape and illegal entry on a moral basis as I find rape to be a more serious crime. From a legal standpoint, they are both crimes and should be punished.

I do not equivocate murder and blackmail but each is a crime and appropriate punishment should be rendered.

I would not reward a criminal because you get more of what you subsidize or reward. If we keep rewarding ILLEGALS they will keep coming. You have the problem in distinction and in semantics. We are not bigots because all of us are perfectly happy for folks to come here LEGALLY. We welcome them to this country with open arms. But the ILLEGAL ones are breaking our laws and we want that to stop and we want them to be punished.

If they come here ILLEGALLY and get hurt then it is their fault for breaking the law. I don't know how to make it any clearer.

I imagine we could get into semantics.  But then I would ask why the AP did not show the video of Governor Blanco saying that she did not believe they had a levee breach?  If she was there and did not know how was DC supposed to know any differently when they were getting their information from her?

Do you suppose that while everyone was warning Bush that the levees could be topped that he was relieved when Blanco told him the levees had not been breached (when in fact they had) only to find out that there was a problem?

The politicians can make a big deal out of this but the fact is nothing could have prevented the damage.  We have not figured out how to stop a hurricane.  If Nagin had used the buses and people would have left (some refused to leave) there would have been less loss of life.  There were problems at all levels but the major problems started at the local and state level.  They were simply inept.

I have been trying to get people to tell me what the government could have done to minimize and no one can.  They sure can criticize though.

I’m not sure what the DNC was supposed to do with unused hand-flags, frankly.

How about collecting them and sending them to a Veteran's hospital, or a veteran's cemetery, or donating them to the Boy Scouts? The flags can still be used so why throw them away? Put them to good use, recycle (like they claimed), and help out an organization that might not be able to afford flags.

If you use your imagination you can solve problems.
