in No Studying on Amused Spectator
Sad to say that even libraries are filled with students mugging (a colloquial word for cramming for their tests and exams) so much so that sometimes it not easy to find an empty table. Moreoever there will always be this clever ones who chope the tables.
Sometimes I feel like just pushing their bags and stuff.

Actually I was using SingTel prepaid up until I got this iPhone.
You'd be surprised at how fast you can type on an iPhone when you get used to it.

in McCafe: I'm Not Lovin' It on Amused Spectator
McCafe isn't bad for some of their drinks. But for better coffee, I prefer going to Geekterminal - http://www.geekterminal.com/web/
They use Illy Coffee which Cart (and pretty much most Italians I know) vehemently believe to be the best coffee in the world. Also, if you like, you can you could ask for your coffee ristretto style - a shorter, stronger, concentrated coffee.
Its a spot where many bloggers like to be at since there is free hi speed wifi. I'd always usually see a familliar face there :]

Wow! That sounds like just the kind of place I want to hang out in. Too bad it's so far away in Raffles Place! ^_^ Maybe I'll get the chance to check it out someday soon though.

in Muslim Food on Amused Spectator
Yeah, as Teeshah said!
The nearest MRT station from there is Bugis. Just walk out past the hospital and I think that you can spot the Sultan Mosque dome from there.
Its a nice place to walk about for sightseeing and nice food of course :)
Ok, now I'm craving for Malay food ... LOL!

Great! Thanks for the directions! I know I've seen it before, maybe while riding a bus, but I couldn't remember where!

That's an interesting perspective from a foreigner. As a Muslim Malay, I don't really think twice about eating Muslim food since it all comes naturally to me.
In fact, I enjoy eating Chinese, Indian, Italian, Japanese, Arabian, or other nationality food - there are so much choices in Singapore - that's the nice thing about being in a multinational country :)
If you like Malay food, I would recommend Hajah Maimunah which is very near the Sultan Mosque or the murtabak at Zam zam which is nearby too :)

I'm glad I'm finally loosening up and trying new things, because the menu at that hawker stall was filled with tasty looking dishes.
I love Italian, Japanese, Hispanic and Americanized Chinese (fail?) food in general. I also like a few dishes from different places, like that roti prata and some of the Filipino dishes my wife cooks. That stuff is really good. Coming from the US I've probably eaten dishes that are native to tons of countries, but never knew it. As far as food is concerned the US is much more diffused with foreign cuisine than Singapore is.
Thanks for your recommendations. I've heard of Sultan Mosque, but could you refresh my memory as to where it is? Is that in Bedok?

I get you man. I detest cliques too and am quite disappointed to see them rapidly and increasingly forming.
True, people do have their own preferences as to who they want to mix around with, and that is their right.
But that doesn't mean that they should just ignore other people, or not be welcoming to other people or at the very least, be sociable to other people.
For that, I am very disappointed.

I dunno, in my observance, I feel that if someone really wants to commit suicide, they would just do it instantaneously, without having to give themselves a duration of time to contemplate.
Because the longer they wait, the more they realise that they are unable to do the deed.

in "Stop Whining!" Should We Be Evaluating Ourselves Based on Others? on Ridz.sg
Agree that we should compare ourselves to ourselves. Just cos we are supposed to be good, doesnt mean that we should rest on our so called laurels. Strive to improve or remain stagnant
One place I have taken to getting a bit rougher is getting on and off the train, or when walking around MRT stations. You have to shoulder your way through people sometimes because they just won't give space for oncoming walkers.
