in The Value of Wonder on Chris Brogan
I deal with wonder everyday. It's what I do. The surprising thing is that I find wonder in LA, where many people think wonder died. :)

in Forget Beyonce- Here Are the Stars on Chris Brogan
One take, yupp, but how much practice went into that one take? How much time? That's the real beauty. One take didn't happen overnight. It took practice and time. Oh, and don't forget, passion. For someone to spend so much time on practice, the passion has to be there.

I love this idea; it's personal to the author and the reader, both. Good posts have a way of getting lost in the great big social media world, and just a little applause would be nice.

I second a couple of the reasons already given in the comments. Howver, I do think failure is the wrong word. How about a reorganization. I look forward to seeing the new domain and how you plan on doing it a little different.

in The Quest to Inspire Action on Chris Brogan
I try to inspire action everyday on my blog. Via photos, writing, and community interaction, people are discovering things to do in LA, plus taking a new look at their own neighborhood.

And I'm having a great time doing it.

BTW, Chris, I'm looking forward to meeting you in a few days......................:)

in Why Bookstores Are My Office on Chris Brogan
My "office" is a space I've created at home which I call my "office," however, recently my office has moved locations. So far, my office has visisted Wisconsinand on Wednesday, my office will visit Sabino Canyon, located in Arizona. You see, via ,Travelin' Local, people are able to visit other locations, share their experiences, and their love of where they live.

Places to visit are what Travelin' Local are all about................:)

I never thought about it like that, you really hit the nail on the head. I like to think of my photography a little like this. How I move, what I focus on, my subject matter, the shadows and light. It's all part of me.

A friend of mine who has gone with me when I take my camera just sits back and says, "I'll let the artist do her work." I really like that.

Victoria It can be helpful to consciously notice what two things you're linking with a particular photograph--a bird and a view, water and the pattern of light, a face and a bush or a building or an angle of sun. It gives you more control over playing with the image, to see the possibilities inherent to whatever your internal trained artist has chosen.

in The Beauty in Simple Stories on Chris Brogan
The simple pleasures in life is what makes it worth living. In anticipation of my post today, I wanted a picture of a particular building in downtown LA, so yesterday afternoon, a friend of mine and I went. After spending time our LA's lovely freeways, we made it there, I took the pictures I wanted, and I thought we were heading back home.

However, my friend decided to surprise me by taking me to the entrance to the Paramount Studios, which I'd never seen and which also worked great in my post today.

So, we stopped by for a few minutes while I took some pictures there, too.

A small surprise made by a friend that made my day. Yes, I love the simple things in life.

in The Importance of the Physical World on Chris Brogan
I'm not sure I'm reading the physical meets social media correctly. Over the weekend, I attended the LA Bike Summit where I met several bloggers I follow. I didn't expect that, so it was indeed a pleasant surprise.

Another aspect of my blog is bring the physical world of LA into the online world via pictures and text. In essence, sharing my extensive backyard of LA via my blog. I do consider this part of physical meets social media. Comments on my blog reflect this sharing.

In addition, a series of guest blogs featuring other people's backyards, both large, like a city, or small, like a traditional backyard, will all be included. I'm really looking forward to it.

in The Tricky Path of Brand Relationships on Chris Brogan
I suspect celebrities because I questions whether they really use the product or use the product as "regular" people would.

Another thought pops up: If I've already stated that I love a product, in my case, my Nikon D40 camera, and Nikon suddenly offered to be a sponsor for my blog, which already features photos taken with my camera, would my love of my Nikon be suddenly suspect?

in 11 Reasons to Take the Train on Chris Brogan
I have a trip planned later this month from LA to Boise. Now, I know Boise isn't the hub of activity, but from LA it's a 14 hour drive, 1.5 hours by plane, and 30 hours by train. Plus, the cost of the plane was about $220 round trip, and the train was $130 one way.

I would have loved to take the train, but between smaller cities, it wasn't practical for me.

Now, between LA and San Diego, I will take the train....................:)

in Guest Post - Handling Negative Comments On Your Blog Post on Chris Brogan
Great advice. Because my blog is so new, negative comments haven't happened to me yet. (Oops, maybe I shouldn't have said that). But, I'm lovin' the advice you provided, especially #5. Telling it like it is and exposing rude behavior is definitely a great way to do.

in If We Agree Advertising is Broken on Chris Brogan
Ok, maybe I'm way off base here, because I'm new to marketing. However, I've thought of content marketing in terms of sponsorship.

For example, let's say you write a mommy blog, and pampers becomes a sponsor. Now, not all the readers might need pampers, but some might, due to the content of the blog. Am I wrong here?

In regards to the post, I do think "traditional" advertising, at least as it pertains to online isn't working. I would have never clicked on the ad you featured in the NYTimes article, and I think the Times lowered themselves, at least in my mind, by running the ad.

I'm don't think traditional advertising is dead, but it definitely needs to up its game a lot or it won't get my attention.

in Can Social Media Save a Local Business? on Chris Brogan
Social media doesn't have to be online, but social could also be just up close and personal. Why not try to work with the local high school? How about offering field trips for the younger students and cooking classes for the older ones? 1st and 2nd graders love the idea of being able to walk into a refrigerator and taking home a small goodie bag. For the older students, to off set costs, maybe charge just the cost of the food. Students get a great meal, cook it themselves, learn, plus, he gets the opportunity to reach out to their parents.
