James, thank you so much for visiting my blog and the link.

You are just the most fab.

I'll tell you this, I would want out if the getting out was good.

Why would any decent actor want to do 9 bad episodes of TV that lead into 4 okay episodes of TV each season? That's what it's come down to, and those 4 episodes are watchable but the crap the preceeds in just so off base.

Bring back Fuller? Is that the cure?

Whatev, I didn't even bother writing about the chapter ending this time out.

Also, the NYC CBS soaps have gone to a new shooting format now with digital video cameras and more hand held stuff, that they thought would draw a more youthful audience.

Problem is their existing viewers just can't stand the handheld camerawork.

Robert, he didn't backpedal, he just said they didn't need stuntcasting to get by, and I agreed with him here.

in No Nielsen Ratings Glory for BSG Season Four Premiere on TVbytheNumbers
Personally, I think the vast majority of Americans are not smart enough to follow the show.

And certainly there are those who don't like having to think while watching TV.

So, let them watch those dancing shows and all that crap, I'll just enjoy this frakking final season (as soon as I finish season three on DVD).

Shaun, I know that you've worked really hard to keep the show on the air (if you are indeed that Shaun) but basic cable will not be able to support the show's budget and pay cable will be looking for something much more cutting edge.

We were just too few to make an audience for a broadcast network show.

Hopefully, enough people have seen Lennie in the show that we'll see him in other things here in the US.

Didn't there used to be more Fox Noise Channel shows in the top 20?

Because not seeing any of them there now just makes me smile.

Yeah, someone needs to teach this woman how to talk to the press.

But, then again, she's just learning English, yes? Maybe we give her some slack?

Why is it I just can't get excited about this next chapter? I was one of the biggest champions of the show in season one, but I was so disappointed in the first seven this year.

I would say the bloom is off the rose for me.

in Nielsen Ratings for Tue Feb 19: Idol, Jericho and Big Brother on TVbytheNumbers
Hey, I'm as much a Jericho fan as anyone around. I sent nuts, I blogged about the show since episode one, I supported the show with my trip to Comic-Con and buying the DVD and did the whole bit ...

... but the numbers seem incontravertable. Those of us who want to see this story play out seem to be a smaller audience than CBS hoped for, and they are gonna make a tough decision at the end of these seven episodes that won't be changed with nuts or seeds or kernels of corn or pinto beans.

It's losing to an SVU repeat. A repeat!

Then again, I still haven't seen the cast out there really pounding the press for the show. I gotta wonder why they didn't send them out to the talk shows.

Well, Skeet's shooting a movie, according to IMDB, Lennie James is only a flight away, but I don't see him anywhere (and frankly, only Jericho fans know him, so how many new viewers would be bring).

Ashley may be in town, but now it's kind of late for a PR push.

I saw Esai on TV Watercooler on the TV Guide channel.

And that's all I think they've done.

I would have bought radio time (progressive radio can be bought for a song). Also, CBS doesn't have the multitude of cable properties to promote on. As we know there's little synergy (or love lost) between the MTV Networks and CBS-Paramount people.

in Jericho Nielsen Ratings — Not So Good on TVbytheNumbers
I was aware that the first three eps were loaded up on the torrents of doom, but I didn't think that would cut into the audience too much considering what people had told me about having to click this specific link in order to get the password for opening the .rar files that held those eps.

It sounded very sketchy to me and like people wouldn't want to give up personal info to get said password.

Certainly, besides some mainstream advertising, CBS didn't do much.

Considering the content in season two, you would think that they would have reached out to some political blogs.

Also, where was Skeet's tour of the morning talk shows? Where was the promo for the show? Why didn't they put some people out there to talk about it?

It looks to be such a good run of shows, more people should see them.

Hey, look on the bright side, it gives everyone a chance to reboot, so to speak, which can only be good for the show.

Certainly this past 11 episodes were not what anyone expected or desired, so this is a good thing.

And Milo will have time to let that "strike beard" fill in.

Now you see, I didn't think the George Michael issue would affect viewing, I thought it would be the comparisons to Ally McBeal.

Haven't we already seen Eli Stone, but in drag?

Here here, Mark.

I can only quote Capt. Jack Harkness from Torchwood when he says, "The 21st Century is when it all changes, and you've got to be ready."

Things are changing so quickly it's hard to figure out where the money is going to come from, but the Guild does realize that it's gonna come from somewhere besides this current model.

The rest know that, too. NBC spent the week at CES, and for good reason. They need to be there. That's where they'll be doing business in no time.

Good for The Singing Bee, they use union writers.

Yet it's still a game show. In prime time. And that's just sad, imho.

Man, this is such bad news for Bionic Woman.

It's their own fault, NBC destroyed the show. If I were David Eick, I'd never work with the network again.

I find it very interesting whenever Wheel's Nielsen numbers come up how Sajak is so politically active yet that flies so under the radar.

Have you read his Wikipedia page? He owns the parent company of Regnery Books, the people who published the Swift Boat attack book against John Kerry.

I can't imagine that people would watch this show knowing he was involved in shredding a veteran's reputation.

Maybe Sajak could do a special episode of Wheel where he puts the Abu Ghraib whistleblowers up on the wheel and spin them like it was the Spanish Inquisition! You know, for February sweeps!

Bob, if you don't like being told what to do, you certainly wouldn't enjoy working for Dr. House.

I like the funny British Hugh Laurie better.

I gotta wonder how high those NBC shows would be on the list if they were still on iTunes.

Seems to me that a lot of iTunes buyers are being forced to watch their NBC shows in a different way than they did last season.

It's too good not to.

I say they should order the back nine.
