Will someone kill SMS already?

Wow... I guess it's not surprising, unless you wanted to receive a short advertisement attached to an SMS update from Twitter.

Why not to add this as an option, btw? Gazillion of "free" online SMS services already do that with some success... it would probably work for some users.

There's no free lunch out there, folks :)

Re: Today only, S60 QuickOffice for $1

Very nice! I met this girl who liked texting. She liked it so much, she was sending me a dozen messages a day. Back then, I had a Samsung T-509 and a desk job ... The idea of replying to her on this tiny candy bar was not fun... A year later, things changed. The software has been built. It has been built to liberate me and other sufferers. It's called easy PC texting. Being able to develop using something like Qtopia for multiple platforms at once would be uber-cool.

Re: The Mobile Industry Review iPhone Application - ideas?

- Video comments integration?
So I'd start the iPhone app, pick a post from a simple list, click a button, record my monologue, click another button to upload the video as a comment to the post.

- Build a social community?
Have a feature on such app to sync profiles of the registered folks with your contact list on the phone. Or maybe have them presented as IM buddies and allow sending them private messages or reading their recent comments or something like that.

Re: Get your own virtual computer from G.ho.st

Idea is nice. Screenshots look good too. This can be used on some cheap UMPC's at some point even.

Here's a problem with getting this adopted across the board any time soon though - a team of ten, twenty or even hundred will not get you a good platform/API, solid e-mail client, browser, IM app, office client, etc, etc, etc. They can only do as much... And users like variety.

If there's no adoption, there's no developer interest, if there's no developer interest there's no adoption (think Windows, iPhone). Would Microsoft, Apple or Google buy them out at some point? That remains to be answered..

Re: Google testing Gmail SMS Chat in Labs

Interesting idea.

I wonder how many unique numbers are available to Google on that area code (406). It's assigned to Montana after all :) Still relatively confusing to have another phone number for SMS<->Gmail...

Re: 2008/08/09/silverlight-olympics/

Installed.
