in Quicksilver Partially Working on dmiessler.com | grep understanding

I got the new (B52) Quicksilver.app before the website went down, perhaps you would like me to email it to you? Let me know (I have it fully working).

in The Correct Way to Pronounce “OS X” [Video] on danielmiessler.com | grep understanding

I tip my hat to you, sir. Too many are walking around saying "Oh Es Ex". It does matter in the grand scheme of things as it helps me be less annoyed around people I have to correct ;)

in Better Quicksearches with QuickSilver on dmiessler.com | grep understanding

I'm personally quite enamored by the Quicksilver web searches as well. I use it for torrent searching and Yubnub too, but I find myself lacking some Dutch things like telefoongids (the local telephone guide or yellow papers) and I really haven't got a clue how to put these things together. Any ideas?

Neworder.box.sk is an excellent security site when it comes to objective and / or informative pieces. I'd recommend them for inclusion.

It's a lot less legible right now, you could darken the body text to fix it on LCD screens. I do like it, it's better and more unified than the old theme. Keep up the great blogging, especially when it comes to calling people to resisting ID databases. I live in the Netherlands, where we are slowly going into a Europe that is a total police state. Political leaders turn conservative, secretive. Strange laws are introduced. The world is getting very scary, and America isn't actually the premier runner-up in catching up to 1984, Europe is also in the race. I read your blog daily, I always do what you recommend to do but localized to my environment. I was demonstrating against Iraq when the war hadn't even begun. And we, in the Netherlands, saw new mandatory ID-card carrying laws since then, now, a new biometric passport. We are already, since years, the most wiretapping country around. I am scared. I don't know what to do but fight, weakly, with the means I have.

in Interesting Lepoard UI Speculation on danielmiessler.com | grep understanding
Yes, although re-coloring widgets isn't exactly what all developers want. I don't know how far we could go in abolishing bitmap graphics. As I have seen it so far, Core UI is efficient and scaling images and lozenges, but it doesn't always apply a full-vector approach. Of course, hacking this all would be trivial indeed.

What's interesting is that you mention the abilities for theming, contrast with other designs, etcetera. I agree wholeheartedly - the new UI will be yet another thing in Leopard they got revamped completely, and in it's current (very) early release builds for developers, we aren't even scratching at the surface.

Interesting read.
