Yeah, I would agree with you on the GLARING omission. I mean, c'mon, a CHALKLINE?! Over needle nose pliers? I use my needle nose pliers at least once a week for something.

I swear I love your blog. I feel as if every post is somehow pulled directly out of what's going on in my life at the moment. Including the deck, flagstone walkway, sagging gate, tree decisions.... Sheesh!? Are you stalking me?! heheh.

Missed your comment on my blog. Somehow I "cleaned" it out of the spam folder which did NOT mean making it un-spammed. Anyways...I hope you're getting moved & settled. I've been without internet access up until this point, otherwise I'd have checked on you & to let you know that I got all my stuff out on Sunday morning. (At least I think I got everything out. It was a mad rush trying to do a final walkthrough.)

I was just noting to Roz (in a separate email) that the worst I ever noticed in the soccer field was some kids drinking occasionally. A lot of the neighbors were like, "Hey, they're kids! They're going to drink!"

But I can definitely say that O.R.C.A. (in my limited experience with them during their existence) was really great. They managed to get a lot accomplished in a short period of time. I know that the FNA had a police representative that came to their civic meetings to update the community on crime, and he also handed out a card to people with a number to call to report stuff. He basically put it in terms of the squeaky wheel getting the grease. The police patrolled more where they were aware of issues. I'm not sure if O.R.C.A. has this, but it might be worth mentioning or checking into if you're going to their meetings. I'm still getting their email updates if you want me to forward you the notices of when they're having meetings....

Oh my, that's seriously been my dream car ever since I was 14. Ugh. Can't afford to spend money on a 2nd car though. Must continue to throw money at the house.

I'm not so keen on some of the ideas...they seem like commercials for people that have already created something. And others just seem like people talking about things many of us already do...such as using CFLs or collecting rainwater. I thought this contest was supposed to be about great ideas to come up with NEW ways to conserve energy and save the planet... If that is the plan, then I definitely think that the idea for kinetic energy is the best... His idea is something that could make a BIG impact, and the technology is pretty straightforward.
