The four branded buttons are NOT customizable. The highest end Roku remotes now have two additional buttons above them, labeled 1 & 2, that you can program.

I like the SSL and scanning enhancements, would be willing to upgrade. But is there some mechanism for existing customers to migrate plans? Last time I asked I was told I had to manually replicate my site within another plan then cancel my existing plan - which is just way too much work.

Took a look at two of the three top picks. Why are their websites so bad? It doesn't give me the warm fuzzies, generally speaking, and I'm left with many unanswered questions. Any new suggestions since this was written? Any scanner suggestions for 3x5 and 4x6 prints if I decide to do it myself?

The biggest takeaway might be the implication that if they don't find success from the Bolt and upcoming OTA-only edition, they could pull the plug on retail. Retail was on autopilot for several years, so it's great to see them fully commit once again - and the pace of updates has been inspiring lately. However, I fear with the existing pricing structure, the Bolt reception will be similar. I have reason to believe the OTA version will also be 4-tuners. Wish they'd go 2-tuner and no 4K to bring that BOM way down. Then again, presumably some cost savings in hardware (bulk) and engineering to a mostly shared Bolt platform.

Like the new app back button. It's similar to Android, but more consistent and labeled. Conversely, that label covers key information like signal strength. Interesting design choice. The deeper hooks of universal search is also quite notable. For example, from the general Spotlight search window, you can search direct into apps (that you've preselected) like 1password to find a site you were looking for. Another new feature is "stability and performance" -- there must be a lot of cleanup going on here, as iOS 9 - even while in beta form - generally performed better than iOS 8.

On the other hand, the widget area still makes no sense. It's listed under "Today" activities. Android is so far superior in this regard, it isn't even funny.

I wouldn't recommend a refurb Jambox. I picked one up once and the battery didn't hold a charge after a short period of time. This one only looks to have a 30 day warranty.

And does it hit you with ads the way my non-Firefox Panasonic smart TV does? The app area is overrun, including blaring video ads, plus the volume bar ad I had to disable. May never buy another "smart" TV.

I did that once with a prior phone and either I had purchased a bad tray or did something silly something got caught on a contact and the phone was left unable to read any SIMs. :/ So I'm a little gunshy I suppose.

Also, when considering business-specific cards, I'd say the web UI and reporting options are very important factors during the year and doubly so come tax time. Could be more valuable than the "rewards" in some cases and worth further discussion I'd think.

My Galaxy S4 had initial connectivity problems, but eventually got going. Streaming CNN was OK, not great - some dropped frames and stuttering. My 2014 Asus Memo Pad could also eventually connect, but apps wouldn't beam. So I'd say the Miracast is not ready for prime time. Also it's quite annoying to manually enable it every time.

Regarding the "annoying" point - I'd say it's highly likely both HBO and SHO offer these online-only offerings via our broadband provider (which in many cases IS our television provider). The incumbents will protect themselves.

I bought the 7" Kindle HDX. Again. Will use as a mini TV around the house or gym.
