in WordPress Possibly Related Posts With Sphere on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
I've had the Sphere plugin for a long time (on one blog over a year at least) and it's a perfect fit for me. The "Possibly Related" posts thing on WP.com is something I really don't want to see on my self-hosted WP blog. The Sphere link is one thing- a button that the user can click to decide if they want to find content at another blog/site- but I don't want to "endorse" posts of other blogs that I've never even visited. Does that make sense? At any rate, I agree with Lorelle in that it should have been an opt-in feature- not an opt-out.

in Controvery Over Heath Ledger’s Autopsy Report on Pop Critics
From the reports I've read he died from mixing the medications, because the amounts of each in his system were low- but mixing them together was deadly. I'm personally on a number of medications and I have to be extremely careful about what types of over-the-counter stuff I take. I can see how this happened, unfortunately.

in NBC Cancels “Journeyman” - Sort Of on Pop Critics
it. I'm moving to FOX now. You know, they at least could have shoved it over to U.S.A. Network, like they did with LO: CI (which I hate...grrr). It's no wonder they can't pick up against the other networks. They won't give any good show a fighting chance. I suppose they'll stick boring "Medium" on there again. *Yawn*
Looks like I'll be taking Monday night classes next semester.

Another Dateline? Sheesh!
Just when I thought the was hope for NBC they go crazy again. They don't give these shows much of a chance. If they do away with "Journeyman", there's nothing more to bring me back to that station. Not even "Heroes"...*sigh*

in Wrong Reaction From Techcrunch On Paid Links? on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
For the record I have a blog that has never had any kind of advertising on it, the first post of which is dated January 4, 2005, that got smacked down to zero. I don't think it's all to do with PPP.
I'd also like to say that I agree with Lilian. Duncan says this in one of his posts (wherein he is decrying Blog World Expo for a negative post done about him):
But never fails to remind the little guy, like myself, how successful he is. He was quoted extensively in the MSM, for pete's sake! Why do we, the ones that sell ourselves (morality and opinions) for a mere pittance, not give the man his due respect? /sarcasm
I have no use for TC or Duncan after reading their opinions of people like me. I don't care one little bit how successful or well linked they are. When it comes down to it, they too are subject to the whims of Google and advertisers. So they can just stuff it.
I apologize, Andy, for my harsh tone. I'm just taken aback by the attitudes of some (who sell their PR) toward the lesser of us simply because of the difference of several of dollar amounts. My very morality is questioned by Duncan and his benefactor just for getting paid for my opinion? Gah! There's something really dirty about that.

some in the blogging community become very self obsessed and self important when at the end of the day there is much more in the world

in SocialSpark.com Preview – PayPerPost Goes Googley? on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
Thanks for doing all of this, Andy. We all really appreciate it.
I'm excited about the feedback option for both advertisers and bloggers. Also, I think the flash intro will go over really well if the pay is high enough. I don't see many people snatching one of those for $5.
I'm looking forward to January when the rest of us can try it.

in Google Sitelinks On A PR4 1 Year Old Domain on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
I wonder how many psychologists Google has on staff. They do a very good job of keeping conversations focused on them and keeping everyone guessing- so their brand remains strong no matter what happens. It's sad that they have so much control over the blogosphere (and indeed so much of the web, but my main concern is blogs).
I have to laugh at Jason Clark though. I think we'd do better with soothe sayers than experts. LOL
