The whole photo thing on Facebook is backwards.

I takes a lifetime just to load the uploader, sometimes it even crashes! Flickr have the right idea for sure, shame Facebook don't use something similar cos what they're using now sure as hell doesn't work

I've been lookign into getting a digital photo frame for a while now. I might get my partner one as a gift this upcoming christmas. What will grannys house look now without all those picture frames hanging everywhere. :p

We just got back from holiday a few weeks ago and by gosh i wish i'd read your guide then.

The one thing i did manage to do was take lots of photos. In fact we took over 500 photos on our latest trip, most of which came out blurred or out of focus. Still there was plenty to choose from and many that we did indeed share.

Thanks for the tips and i'll be sure to use them in our upcoming January trip

LMAO Amy, it's not Europeans in general that love the mayo on fries. My friend when we were there asked for a little bit of mayo on his fries. They still ended up swimming around in them like the needed to bathe LOL. He only wanted a little bit! And we're from the UK.
Why she couldn't just sell them to the people behind you is beyond me. Sometime i wonder if the Dutch do certain things just to annoy the tourists ;)

I dread to think about other stuff you've gone through to take a good photo.

Wow, excellent photos :D . After seeing your photos, i do wish i had gotten round to visit it. We plan a return visit soon, so if it's still on. Then i might just take a peek inside this time (I'll put it on my todo list ;) )

You should put one of these photos into the other post (the one i first commented on) Other people will at least know which church it is (Theres so many i'm sure many people don't know that the New church stands in Dam Sq.)

Vondelpark is a great photo in my opinion, It's clear with a great reflection in the water. Although others have said, it's been done before. Still an awesome photo by all means (Can i have it? :p ).

I also like the Windmill, Lots of photos of Dutch windmills around, but this has that angle of interest. Looking up with a great blue/grey sky behind.

The Amsterdam in Spring photo, well lots of people have a photo just like this in my opinion (I take photos from here every time i go to Amsterdam ;) ) But i still like it becauseit shows the bustling of Amsterdam. Everytime i see a picture from this location, it always has a crane in it!

Plein Fun looks quite cool, so that has to stay at the top with the ones i like :)

You make a good point of feeling seperate,. we recently returned form Amsterdam and after looking through our many hundreds of photos (Just like yourself, we took hundreds, even though many turned out alot different to how we expected.) Realized that i some how felt seperated from the place i was at when i took it. Almost like i was trying to get the place i was to pose for the camera, (Sounds crazy i know).

One way to avoid this feeling, is to only spend one full day taking photos, prefferably your last day. I suppose if you manage to do that. Then you will have already experienced the place your snapping with the camera, and be able to enjoy botht the moment of taking the photo. And the moment of been there.

I was at the Nieuwe Kerk just a couple of weeks ago and managed to snap some photos with its "Black is beautiful" banners still up. If you'd like the photo to go with this post, let me know and i'll be more than happy to provide you with it.

Although i never went inside the Nieuwe Kerk, i did notice that alot of others seemed really interested in it. After reading you r post, i kind of wish i had visited the exhibition.

Great photo to say it was taken on your phone. Love the way the sun is split behind either side of the building. Next time we're in Amsterdam, i might try and grab a photo just like this. Not the same place lol, just of the sunset ;)

Also, is the first video taken outside that huge bicycle park outside of the central station? That big newly built one?
