in Questions to Use When Meeting for the First Time on The Savvy Entrepreneur
This is some great advice! A few things I will be trying at the next event! The key is each question engages the other person, and not necessarily on the business/sales pitch level. It is more about asking the other's opinion (and we know people love to share those :0) ). Fantastic..

Great write-up! I couldn't have said it better myself!

in 2006/12/21/microsoft-tries-to-patent-rss-readers/ on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
This happens all through business. One person invents something and then another company patents it.

In truth, it shouldn't be the case, Dave Winer's lawyers should have been competent enough to tell him he had to patent it. Then he could claim exclusivity.

Great thoughts Cristina! I find that the networking /marketing events that I attend are 100% more beneficial when I ask more questions than I answer. People generally like talking about themselves and their ideas. And once you get the know what they do, you can refer customers to them (when appropriate).

It is rare that someone takes a genuine interest in what you are doing, so there is a better chance they will remember you! More times than not, by just listening, you get more referrals than you could ask for. It is all about branding yourself AND your business.

in Making your website work harder on The Savvy Entrepreneur
This is a fantastic idea! It will be of monumental importance because there are so many smaller businesses who are missing out on the much larger picture that the internet can give them!

Something you might want to touch on is search engine optimization as well. I consult heavily in the area and would love to give a hand if you thought is was worth it.

It is one thing to have a website and have great content, but search engines need to get what they want in order to index it effectively!

in Doing Your Best: Part 3 — Be a Lifelong Student on The Savvy Entrepreneur
Cristina, Great series. And you are totally right your recommendation of being a lifelong student. In truth, that is one of the beauties of blogging. You immerse yourself in the culture and you are able to sift through amazing amounts of information. But you are always current and updated in your knowledge!

I think they look pretty cool, but I am the one person left in this world that wears socks with sandals.. Well, when my girlfriend is away at least! If she sees the socks she throws things :0)

in Your own words on A Dialogue With K
Great article. It is nice to comment and create discussion. I leave comments everywhere I go. It is fun to see what someone else is thinking. I live in the US and it seems to me that there are way more bloggers in other parts of the world (luckily, written in English). I just started about a month ago and I love to see new people on my site. Your layout rocks by the way!
