I have learned to trim my hair and can do some of the basic things I need but when I need a major change I go to my friend.....big savings!!!!!

I also have a good friend who is a computer programmer so I get him to diagnose and fix my computer and website problems..give him a big Mac and he is happy. I treat the credit card like cash...by paying it before I get hit with interest and I love gaining cash back.

I used to work at a bank and got so disgusted by some of the dirty cash I got that I try not to touch cash now if I can.

Good luck on the cash experiment.

Re: More ING Direct Referral Links Needed: Join the Waiting List

I would like to be added to your list as I have some links.
thanks for doing this.

Re: The Correct Way to Pay Off Personal Debt: The Debt Avalanche

According to my understanding of the debt snowball you can choose EITHER the highest interest first or the smallest balance. I use the snowball term but pay the highest interest debt first.

It is not what you call it that matters...what is important is that you are making an effort to reduce debt.

With both methods you are paying the minimum on all debts EXCEPT one which is targeted to receive a higher than the minimum payment. When I was first learning about debt snowballs I was told this was the basis of dealing with debt.....the choice comes when you decide if to tackle the highest interest first or the lowest balance first.

Different things work for different people and according to my financial situation I have switched from one method to the next. Sounds like you are just calling the same thing a different name here. Same principle.

Re: Check Your ING Direct Overdraft Protection

My ING line of credit has not dropped. A few months ago when they started to close accounts I got a letter saying my OD was being taken away. I called them and they said it was a mistake and they put it back on.

Since then I have not had any problems and as of 5 minutes ago my OD line is still high. I have never used it and I just pretend it is not there because I do not want to go into OD.

Re: Top 25 ways to save money

Thank you for linking to my article and I am glad you found some of my tips useful. I realized I was a blogoholic when I woke up from surgery and thought I could blog about the experience...instead of rejoicing that the surgery went well.

2. Also...every time I talk to my boyfriend about something it is always preceded by "So I read on a blog that...."

3. In fact the only debit card I now have is for my ING account which I only use during the time they offer the cash back for purchases.

I recently used the card to send money via moneygram because ordinarily I would have to transfer the money from my ING account over to a regular bank and then withdraw it then walk over to the moneygram place to send the money. Now I just swipe my debit card on the day I need to send the money, and don't lose the interest on the days that the transfer would have taken.

Re: 4 Tips to Help You Use More Coupons

Sometimes (not often) the coupon for the brand works out better. I usually buy 10 cans of store brand milk for the month as it is 74 cents and the brand is 83 cents.

I got a coupon for 50 cents off two cans of the brand....so this month I got 8 cans of the store brand and 2 cans of the brand name.

The two brand name cans cost 18 cents more but the coupon was for 50 cents off so I saved 32 cents. Next month I am going back to my ten cans of store brand because I don't have any more coupons, but it worked in this one case.

Re: What’s in your Wallet?

Here is what is in my wallet License, Chase rewards, Discover rewards, insurance (me and car), $5, one penny.

I use my Chase card for all purchases since I get cash back.
