in AppsLab FAQ: How Do I Get People to Adopt? on Oracle AppsLab
Jake,

Great post. Some useful ideas for increasing adoption.

We've been using Connect for the last few weeks and the number one item of feedback we've had is the lack of email subscriptions for Group activity. Whether we like it or not email is still the #1 communication tool for most people. We've posted content against groups and members have no idea that we've posted something, as they are not seeing anything in their inbox.

Therefore to help improve building the Community, we'd like to see email subscriptions. To avoid Spam, we could give people the option to turn the subscriptions on or off.

Jake This had been on our list for a while, and I think ENTP is building it. The first part is released to Mix, i.e. notifications are centralized into direct messages and there's an email digest option on the profile.

The second part is allowing people to subscribe to threads. We'll be rolling these into Connect as they are finished. You might want to ping Marius and Tim to find out the status on these features.

You make a good overall point too. I think I'll update the post to include it.

in More Connect UI Mockups, Do You Care? on Oracle AppsLab
Hi Jake,

I will pass on this post to some of the EMEA people who we know are using Connect and Mix, to see if we can get any feedback from them.

Jake Thanks Frank. Nothing super formal, just impressions and thoughts. If nothing else, at least you can see how the UI will change.

in Recap of the Working Group’s First Call on Oracle AppsLab
@Jake. I'm running a Web 2.0 workshop later this month. Looking for some case studies (video preferably) of how a company has successfully exploited Web 2.0. Searched my Google Reader archive and found this post. Did the Workgroup ever get a case study repository together?

Jake,

What is the profile of the new users. We did some promotion at the start of this week on a few internal blogs - http://blog.us.oracle.com/infrastructure/?96343... http://blog.us.oracle.com/lunch20-UK/?96344032

in I Heart TripIt on Oracle AppsLab
I recently joined as well. Trying to convince my colleagues to join as well as it would be a good way to track what location we are in each week - trying to do this via Collabsuite is just too cumbersome.

On a personal level, I've just learned from TripIT that a friend living in Australia will be back in Ireland during the summer.

Feel free to add me to your network.

@Jake: Thanks for that clarification, I will attempt to clearly define the difference between Connect and Mix in my future communications with EMEA employees.

in More Mix Fixes on Oracle AppsLab
I go back to my comments when Mix launched, about the effort put in by a lot of people to establish relationships in Connect.

We've had problems promoting Mix in EMEA as people don't want to spend time rebuilding their network. If the networks already existing in Connect, could be transferred to Mix, then I think you would see a pickup in Mix usage.

in Mix is for Everyone on Oracle AppsLab
Jake,

Some feedback from the Oracle user community in EMEA. Quite a few people invested time in building a network inside Connect, and it is proving difficult to convince them to do likewise in Mix. Are there any plans to allow the importing of existing Connect networks into Mix?
