You've just gained a new subscriber, sir. Excellent article on social marketing. It seems you have articulated, quite clearly, what I've been trying to grasp for months now.

It's not always about throwing backlinks on the web, it's more useful to convey the thought of "casting a very wide network." Well said.

As you, Jack, I've always looked at FaceBook as the new MySpace. Just another "add friends" machine. But I broke down and created an account last week. I noticed that my clients competitor's profiles were ranking really well... sometimes you gotta swallow your pride.

I've been using this search method to find relevant content related to my business and it works really well. It's great that you write this Jack, because I've been debating on whether I should train my guys to use this method.

We've also been using this same tactic with Google Alerts. Aside from getting duplicate alerts, it has proven to be very helpful at finding great conversations to dominate.

Same thing for me too. My entire post was altered. I had to go back and add all paragraphs and formating to the article. The problem is most likely caused by an incorrect setting... if you're using WordPress.

The "WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically" box in Options>>Writing needs to be checked. I'm not 100% sure this is a fix though.

Was just reading the ABB 2008 and it lead me here. Quite unsurprisingly, Mr. Chin's blog still has no PR, even a year later.

I agree with Max Lowe. I've rather enjoyed flaming people who knock my products. If they have a legit gripe, so be it. It's just those ignorant, wannabe authority bloggers that incite the beast within.

I have a question. I have a cheese ball WordPress theme, which I've grown fond of, that doesn't allow me to create pages without placing them in the top menu by default.

Is there a negative effect, that I'm not seeing, by placing the KQF feeds in a post as opposed to a page?

UPDATE:

Apparently with my current theme, it only allows the KQF code as the sole content. When I add any text whatsoever, it screws up the entire page. Any suggestions?

I'm sure this is a question better posed to the theme creator, but I'm covering all bases here hoping you may have a solution. Thanks again.
