I have to say that this is one of the best websites I have come across in respect of cycle crime and advice etc. The videos are brilliant!!
Are you aware of the electronic RFID tag system called Immobitag www.immonitag.com
15 police forces are using it in the UK at over 35 locations as part of their drive to cut cycle crime. The tag number, the warning label number,the bike and owners details are registered on www.immobilise.com a free national database which is linked into the PNC (Police National Computer.) Even without tagging the bike you can register your bike details free of charge so now bikes stolen in one police area and found in another can be identified.

The immobitag does more than identify the cycle if stolen and recovered. Figures from police crime reduction initiatives in the Uk show that you are 10 times less likely to have a bike stolen if it is tagged- so it acts as a deterrent first and if unfortunate to have it stolen then as a unique ID number which the police can check.
