People even outdue to Don on other sites comparing MLS to top leagues in Europe and saying we are better than the FMF.
What we’ve learned is that MLS is worse than ever and chances are the same team, Houston will win the title this year. Now we see what happens if teams other than the reliable suspects., San Jose/Houston, DC United or LA Galaxy are in CONCACAF competitions. They bomb!
So this league is not only bad……………it’s not as competitive as everyone likes to claim!

Re: Who Should the US Start Versus T&T?

Heath Pearce is lousy. Is he really our only option back there?

Re: Donovan Deal Could Have Killed MLS

The USL vs MLS comparison is a waste of time. Dumb vs Dumber. Garber vs Marcos. As I said dumb versus dumber.

As far as this article is concerned I happen to agree that the lack of marque of American players in MLS is a problem. Truthfully a big failure of the MLS was the lack of quality Americans besides Ricky Davis and Perry Van Der Beck. Sure the quality of Americans is improving but when guys like Hunter Freeman and Clarence Goodson feel they can make more money abroad, the league will always be seen as second tier and minor by American fans no matter how many Beckham and Blanco's sign.

Re: Different Night, Same Story: USL Triumphs, MLS Fails

I'd encourage more people to follow USL. I'm glad that you after announcing at the beginning of the season that you would track USL on your radio show, and then after the season preview promptly ignoring it for months has done an about face. The league isn't that far below MLS in standard and its top teams like Puerto Rico would actually fare quite well in MLS. Additionally, the league is not run by thieves like MLS.

Re: MLS Scheduling Change Coming?

donjuego every league you named breaks for internationals.

the big issue isn't the march-november time frame per FIFA rules. It's the not breaking for internationals. BIG DIFFERENCE.

MLS is losing guys for sure because of this policy. Alot of players don't say it in public but I have heard snickering about what a joke league it must be to play matches on television at the same time as the national team and how if american players had a choice they'd bail on the league in a heartbeat.

on the record examples, no unless kartik can provide them. off the record sentiment? plentiful and frequent. trust me. i interact with agents etc, who just think mls itself is a joke for playing through international dates and would prefer their clients unless retired from the national team sign elsewhere.
