in Break Out Of Your Money Box on Billionaire Woman
I've tried the pretend money trick before but it has never worked for me. The problem is that I know it's pretend money so its not that big of a deal. For example, when I created a mock portfolio of stocks, I was investing left and right and doing pretty well. But when real money came into play, my emotions got the better of me. Excellent post!

I agree Steve, sometimes when it comes to real money we have a different reaction. That's why writing a check must feel realistic. I haven't done a lot of mock stock investing, but I can imagine the difference between a mock investment and a real one.

in How To Make Your WorkWeek Work For You Not Against You on Billionaire Woman
I used to be in a bad mood every morning when I got to work. But after I started drinking water instead of coffee as part of my morning ritual, I've found that I feel much better (and less grumpy) in the mornings. It's amazing what water can do for you. Great tips!

I never even thought of the grumpiness factor Steve. I've definitely seen it in myself though, I am less grumpy when I drink more water first thing in the morning!

in 5 Annoying Things About Twitter | danny brown on danny brown - social media pr and marketing
Yikes. I've been using twitter mainly to post my latest posts and to make an occasional comment about your mustache for Movember. In general, I've started unfollowing those people who chat non stop. Personally, I still haven't found my groove on Twitter but I imagine that I will with time.

Wow, that is a neat trick! Sometimes I run out of stumbles on my stumble bar and articles start to repeat. I'll use this when that happens. Thanks.

in The Irrelevant Business Plan on MindFrenzy
I agree, writing a formal business plan is a big waste of time. It's better to go out and starting doing rather than trying to plan every last detail. In my book, if its a good idea, you don't need a book to describe it. If you can't explain it concisely, then your customers aren't going to get it either.

in Paying Lip Service to Failure Is Not Enough on Instigator Blog
Thanks for the article. In my opinion, there's failure and then there's failure because you didn't give it your all. Many entrepreneurs cut loose too early because their business is headed in the wrong direction. In more cases than not, you can often right the ship with a little persistence and some good timing.
