I agree, Tmobile needs to capitalize on unhappy At&t customers and get some higher end phones with more incentives to compete with at&t's unity plan too... i beleive the evenings shud become standard at 8pm, that will make it a win for those debating, also add in the high end phones such as HTC Touch GSM version and maybe a few Samsungs i780's, etc.

basically, tap the german tmobile and get some of there stock, simple.

Brilliant story. Well thought out. I am going to send this to all my Israeli hightech friends -- all the ones who say they want to do something with meaning and that makes money.

Being from the US, I'd like to know more about how to do business with Israeli clean tech companies. Are there any social mores we should know about ie establishing contacts, meetings on the phone, how to talk, negotiate? Any advice or guide would be most appreciated.

I'm sure Apple is thinking that it would be harder to get people to pay for tethering if they could just transfer files back and forth by USB cable and use the already-included iPhone data plan to essentially send and receive e-mail attachments on their laptops. :) In fact, if Apple opened up the file system on the iPhone like it does for the iPods except the touch, it would take very little time for an app-developer to essentially come up with a free tethering app for non-jail-broken iPhones. And that just wouldn't be profitable enough for Apple now, would it?

Plus if people started doing that, AT&T's crappy 3G network would be further taxed.

Same reason that Apple doesn't allow Bluetooth keyboards for the iPhone. God forbid people start making use of the iPhone's actual capabilities and start using it like a laptop.

Problem is, he won't even make it to 40 points. He's more likely to get 20-30.

Send him down to juniors before he is ruined for good. He is lost on the ice. He still can't finish around the net. He still isn't setting up his teammates for scoring chances. This has been a disaster of a rookie experiment.

But I think what Brooks was pointing out was not that these people have degrees, but that they are actually intelligent. This, certainly, should be a "no-brainer." We want smart people in office.

Of course, I'm anecdotal evidence too, but my social media response rate is hardly above the average direct media response rate, which is quite sad considering the almost-cold-contact nature of the latter and supposedly almost-hot-contact nature of the former. Google (in that respect) is much more my friend than Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.

do some research with Verizon Fios-regarding termination fee's-what is actualy included with you service and the little extra's you have to pay for - and when you compare it with comcast (who also provides a Fiber Optic Network - and has for many years) you'll be amazed-the prices are the same after the initial promotions. Comcast never closes-they are open 24/7 365 - verizon M-F 9-5 no holiday's....when i need help on x-mas morning w/ my tv-i'm sure to here a representative on the line-from the US!

One of the biggest problems in this city is that no one is open to change or friendly to business. The Braga family has taken many dumpy properties and made successful businesses out of them. If Dunkin Donuts would not be a viable business option for the willow rest, then he won't put one there. However, we need more people who are willing to invest in this city. Neighborhood businesses are great, but there are so few people who are willing to put in the the time and effort that it takes to make one sucessful. I support any business person who wants to make an investment in Gloucester.

The city of Gloucester NEEDs this project. Not only will it not put Gloucester businesses out of business, it will help them. How many people go to the malls in Danvers for one item and stop at multiple stores on the way home because of the prices and convenience? Having Gloucester Crossing will keep people in town and therefore patronizing local businesses.

Look at the city of Beverly, giving tax breaks to the Cummings Center and now it's thriving. Gloucester MUST do the same thing. Here is a person who is actually willing to invest in Gloucester. We should be doing everything we can to coddle the project, not stifle it.

And...I'm a resident of East Gloucester....where they say all of this opposition lies!!!!

The real problem here is that people don't drive down Main Street because about 1/4 of the buidlings are vacant. And, the stores that are on Main Street do not carry every day items that residents need. Gloucester Crossing will not pull cars away from Main Street; it will pull cars from Endicott Street and Route 114 in Danvers, and probably add cars to main street.

I wish our locally elected officials would concentrate on the real problem....bringing businesses to Main Street, instead of spending time and money reversing the direction. Councilor Ciolino said we "can't sit on our hands." No, instead we're "sticking our heads in the sand" by hoping that reversing the direction of a one-way street will bring more business. That is utterly stupid.

Tyro, with all due respect, there *are* known replacements to oil. They're expensive, and it won't be easy to scale, but they exist today. We can power the world on wind power *alone*. We can power the world on solar power *alone*. We can very easily power the world on nuclear power *alone*. Imagine combining these sources until the day fusion is ready (and I believe it will be).

I'm personally not a big fan of nuclear power because of the waste issue, but there is more than enough fuel in the world. If we were to scale up to power the world, we'd have around 12 years' worth of *mined* uranium-235 and around 35 years' worth of mined thorium. Another source of uranium is common seawater, where a dissolved form of yellow cake constitutes about three parts per billion. This doesn't sound like much, until you combine several tidbits of info, which you might classify as uranium trivia factoids - except there's nothing trivial about U-235-fueled atom bombs. Factoid one is that the total volume of seawater in all the world's oceans, measured in liters (roughly a quart), is the number 14 followed by twenty zeroes. That's a very big number. Factoid two is that the total of pure U-235 dissolved in all this seawater - the 0.7% of the three parts per billion - weighs about thirty million tons. That's one spicy meatball.

How hard is it to extract ocean-borne uranium? Japan, one country always interested in energy independence, in the 1970s ran an experimental plant to filter out uranium from the sea. The all-up cost of obtaining uranium ore this way, as measured in the price of a kilowatt-hour of electricity, was competitive with the cost of obtaining that power from barrels of oil.

It used to not be possible to have live quotes unless you were physically at the exchange. Think of all the other various advances; black boxes are just the latest. Everybody will still have a chance to make money in the future. In fact, I believe that some smart humans will still be able to beat the machines at any given point in the future.

I have nothing with which to counter your argument that we'll experience disruptions and be forced to reduce our energy consumption over the next two decades or so. You see, I live in a third-world country called USA in a remote backwoods area called Los Angeles. And I've experienced numerous disruptions already over the past six years or so because of our pathetic excuse for a power grid!

Every time I read about some tiny country building the world's largest wind farm or radical new solar work being funded by the government of a country with far less wealth than the US, I feel sick to my stomach and angry. I feel that the disruptions you predict (and with which I agree) will be the direct result not of any technological shortcomings but rather because of our typical dragging of the feet and refusal to face facts (i.e., that the oil age is over).

Get yourself a real IDE. Emacs handles doctests without any issue with doctest-mode 0.5 in mmm-mode.

Ce site est tout simplement victime de son succès + les travaux qui se font en live et non pas sur un autre serveur interne (une impression). Trop de connections, Apache ne suit pas ou est mal configurer, le ou les serveurs n'ont pas assez de bande passante (oui car ça coûte cher quand même), mauvaise redirection, mais ce n'est pas la faute de Gandi. Bref, c'est bien dommage. Et heureusement que ce n'est pas payant. D'ailleurs, on pourrait penser que ces travaux viennent des tests pour le futur paiement...Vivement qu'une autre boîte qui investira un peu plus dans la technologie puisse reprendre le concept :)

Site sympa avec un concept original , ça m'a déjà permis de faire quelques rencontres sympa. Mais ces derniers temps il y a vraiment trop de bugs et c'est bien dommage car ça en deviens insuportable.

Bon, sur les bugs qu'on a connu depuis 2 semaines je ne peux que m'excuser au nom de l'équipe si cela a entrainé des désagréments. J'espère simplement que vous reviendrez nous rendre visite maintenant que le gros des problèmes est dernière nous (il y a encore des choses à corriger mais rien d'embêtant).

Et rapidement au sujet de la gratuité du site, je tiens à préciser que l'ensemble des fonctionnalités actuelles du site resteront gratuites. Cependant nous allons également proposer des options supplémentaires facultatives payantes (pour les hommes). Mais nous attendons de finaliser quelques modifications et d'élargir un peu le staff (très restreint pour le moment, le projet étant tout jeune).

Enfin voilà, encore une fois désolé des soucis techniques que nous avons rencontrés !

N'appelez surtout pas le 700 mais le 3907, c'est le service client smartphone.
ils sont incompétents au 700 il ne pensent même pas transférer au 3907 pour un problème de Blackberry...

résultat :
- 48h de perdu en échange de mail et de conversation téléphonique avec le 700
- en 5 mn rajout de l'annuaire de service par le 3907 et facebook fonctionnait !

The left turn there off of San Juan Rd. is going to back up all the way to Aromas!!! I think that is a terrible decision to close that u-turn. Perhaps they should outlaw trucks on San Juan Road to keep it from backing up all the way to Watsonville.

'dear tired of this traffic'----I'm definetly thinking of the correct turn. I drive it every day. What happens is when there are trucks and extensive traffic the left turn off of San Juan Road onto North 101 backs up way past the gas station. At this time (which they are closing) it is possible to turn right onto south bound 101 get in the left lane and make a u-turn at the red barn to go North on 101. Without this option available the left turn lane on San Juan Rd. to NB 101 is going to severly back up trust me!!! The only other option is 129 which has so many trucks from the quarry on it you seldom get over 45 mph and you car gets beat by rocks.. Lose Lose when they close the Red Barn Turn :(..

It seems to me though that the pace of innovation in automobiles, perhaps until only recently when electronics started being used, was pretty slow. We coud all probably drive that car within about two minutes of sitting in it.

On the other hand 53bhp, 47 years ago, if you had a growth rate of 2% per year that would mean 134 bhp today, which is about what that car's equivalent have, don't they?

I'd probably measured the pace of innovation by per capita GDP growth, although maybe per worker per hour GDP would be better. I think my point then is that cars have probably advanced about as much as the economy as a whole, whereas obviously computers have advanced quicker, and (as an example) gold jewellery rather slower.

Of course one problem with cars and technological advance is currently (and not true 10 years ago) the gasoline is pretty expensive (although cheaper in terms of GDP than it was in 1980).

terribles estas actualizaciones y "mejoras" en la web de N24. De mal para peor, cada día entro menos a leer de verdad qué pereza comentar con la poca certeza de que salgan mis comentarios, terrible lo de las fotos, unas "noticias" que dan pena y por supuesto ese supuesto filtro de malas palabras que no logro ver en funcionamiento.

Envié un comentario que no salió, era largo trataré de reescribir brevemente.

De acuerdo con que el desgobierno no invierte en salud, ni educación, etc como debería (como tampoco otros anteriormente).

De acuerdo en que muchos problemas del mundo se hubieran podido resolver con lo que se ha "invertido" en guerras.

De acuerdo con que es necesaria una cura para el cancer, pero.... le falta seriedad a los comentarios de esta noticia.

¿has sido víctima del cancer en cualquiera de sus formas? Víctima: tú o tus seres más cercanos (padres, hermanos, etc). En el caso específico del cancer de mama ¿has tenido que acompañar a tus seres queridos en el proceso de una mastectomía radical? ¿Has visto el sufrimiento que genera y cómo te cambia la vida esta enfermedad?

Yo sí y no me sientoorgullosa pero algo aprendí. Nos falta seriedad para enfrentar este problema. ¿Cómo hallamos la cura si no invertimos en investigación? ¿será que el chavismo o los adecos nos van a resolver el problema? No quiero socialismo pero ¡resuélveme los problemas!

¿Conoces el funcionamiento de la Sociedad Anticancerosa? A duras penas funciona pero gracias a Dios existe, ¿colaboras con ella?. ¿Conoces y formas parte de iniciativas concretas en pro cura y prevención del cancer? como AVON por ejemplo....¿promueves el control anual preventivo en tu casa? No más allá, sólo en tu casa... ¿sabes cuántas vidas habríamos salvado sólo con prevenir? ¿qué haces?.... no mucho pero ¡encuentren una cura, la prevención no es importante!

Ejemplo: ¿existe cura para el SIDA? No. Podemos evitarlo, Sí, totalmente.... ¿me explico?

Mucho camino qué recorrer... el rancho en la cabeza.

There is nothing in the RLTO to "manipulate." The fact that Horizon refers to the RLTO as "controversial" really shows their true colors here. Thanks to the RLTO, which clearly lays out the rights of tenants and the responsibilities of landlords, I and many of my friends have gotten back the full amount of my security deposit from shady landlords who tried to withhold all or part of it arbitrarily. Compared to most big cities, Chicago is a landlord's paradise with no rent controls and only a handful of tenant rights. The fact that Horizon's being a crybaby over a provision in the RLTO is laughable. Is Horizon going to sue every commenter on Yelp now?

Call it silly, call it paranoid or call it a hunch, but ultimately I am not comfortable putting all my web activity though a browser whose developer has made it's name from 'knowing all' & tracking things. I'm not sure that I want a single entity to be able to collect 100% of my web activity. As it is they already know SO much about what people do with Google Analytics and Ad's on sites (much like DoubleClick etc).

I appreciate that it is light weight, and it is fast & both of those are good things. So I guess it comes down to what I'm/your comfortable with using.

(No, I don't have Javascript turned off, nor do I wear a 'special hat' made from foil)

Stopped in to try it out since the new ownership. Wish we hadn't. First clue: the menu. Looks like it was done in Powerpoint, cheesy clip art and all, and then printed out on the office inkjet. How about making a good first impression by hiring a designer? This "we don't care" attitude extended to the food. Nothing near fresh, everything we had was formerly frozen or jarred or canned. Horrible. Bathrooms were filthy to top it off.

Add a fifth point, cameras just don't work as a deterrent with the people they are supposed to be deterring, but they do affect my privacy. Cameras are a lazy option that let us ignore real problems like proper funding for our police force.

What about the fact that it's entirely possible (and probable) that the wealthy get a better return on their government dollar than the poor? How often does the government pay a lot of money to develop something useful, and then essentially gift it to corporations to make a lot of money off of it? Pretty often. I'm not even saying it's a bad idea for the government to do this. Many of our most important technological advances are a result of this process. I'm just saying that my guess is that wealthier citizens benefit disproportionally when it comes to a lot of taxpayer-funded activity, and if you get more, it seems fair that you pay more. This is probably the case with infrastructure improvements as well. While better government-funded transportation systems may result in lower prices for consumers, for example, my guess is that the economic benefits are skewed toward stockholders of the corporations that make the most use of these transportation systems to ship goods. While many Americans hold some amount of stock in their retirement accounts, the actual volume of stock is highly concentrated in the hands of the very wealthy. If you really believe that an average American gets as much tax relief from a capital gains tax cut than a very wealthy American, you quite simply have your facts wrong.

Also, the idea that a flat tax is "fair" is pretty misguided if you ask me, especially if a significant inheritance tax is not in effect. If you know the famous result from economics that markets are efficient, you should also understand that efficiency has little to do with what we usually refer to as "fairness." Efficiency is certainly a good thing (as are markets), but it says nothing about initial conditions. For example, you can have a perfectly efficient exchange market economy where one person has 1,000,000 units of goods and another person has five units. Maybe the person with five units used to only have three units before market exchange, but this situation hardly squares with most people's ideas about "fairness" if the other person started with 999,000 units. Fact is, you can end up with a lot of money by working hard (especially if you, by random chance, happen to be more intelligent than average), but you can also end up with a lot of money by doing absolutely nothing if you happen, by random chance, to be born to an extremely wealthy family. It's difficult to do a lot of hard work to earn that money when you're in your mommy's belly. The playing field is certainly not level. Of course, my guess is that very few of the comments on this page criticizing liberals for not knowing anything about economics have probably never actually studied economics.

Lastly, the conditions required to guarantee efficient markets are almost never met in the real work, and most of the deviations for these conditions -- especially externalities -- benefit the wealthy disproportionately. This is not to say that real markets aren't still (sometimes) more efficient that government allocation, but as is the case with most things in life, the most reasonable solutions are to be found somewhere in between the extreme ideologies on either side of a given issue.

Those numbers are from last year I think, Brian. The Avalanche cap it this year is something like $51 Million or a bit more. They have more like $5 million or so available. But you are correct in your other comment. Kronke will continue to be cheap when it comes to the Avalanche. The Nuggs are his baby now. He's always loved basketball more than hockey. He only owns the Avs because they came as part of a package deal with the Nuggs and Pepsi Center.
