in Apple and the Tale of Three Black Crows on Investor in the Wilderness
Apple should have skipped the event and just slipped the product out. there's no way to dress up an i- pod its great technology and really does not need improvement. unless they beam music right to your cerebral cortex any "improvements" will be more style than substance. the phone replaces it anyway! It IS the new i-pod . . . who wants 2 devices in their pocket when 1 will do. until the i-pod makes calls i have my phone and for bike rides i have a nano.
I'm glad steve was looking a LITTLE better.

nice use of the "pale" zach it means fence or fence post (usually around a graveyard) as you have used it but hopefully it will not refer to Steve's complexion if he takes stage at the event. (love the allusion)

in Apple Investors We Got Our Wedgies on Investor in the Wilderness
if there's any stops or sneaky tweaks that can be done to these government figures this week they will be done. you can count on this administration to publish good news prior to mccain's convention and push this market as much as possible ( exaggerate today revise tomorrow ,lie of omission is the bush style) if we finish down prior to the week end it will be a miracle.

in Are iPhone 3G Defect Rates Way Above Apple’s Standards? on Investor in the Wilderness
Your having a rough time Zach Keep the faith designing the new phone is a complex process and maybe apple Walmarted the suppliers. hopefully apple will return the problem phones to the suppliers responsible and let them eat hardware until they get it together. keep the faith. in the end apple will make it right.

remember the days when apple used to "blame the victim" and find some small scratch on your hardware and try to say you dropped it. they have come a long way since those times.
anytime i really wanted a response from apple i addressed a snail mail letter to "the vice president in charge of customer relations" I always got a response and a solution. (poop rolls down hill faster than it climbs up the corporate ladder. no employee wants to pass a problem up to his superior. no executive wants a problem on his desk overnight . a pebble at the top of the hill moves more dirt than a bulldozer at the bottom . once the big dog barks (and signs off on it) everybody does what it takes to make it happen.

in AT&T Worms in Apple iPhone Buying Experience on Investor in the Wilderness
first of all Zach ATT has always been obtuse. I arrived 1/2 hour early on a sunday morning to the ATT store in Westbury Long island. having arrived 1/2 hour early we decided to wait. My girlfriend needed a bathroom (typical) and we went 50 feet to a diner nearby to use theirs when we returned her car was hooked to a tow truck the store had just opened and i went in to explain to the manager that we were headed here to his store and he said he had no control over the truck driver and the tow was controlled by the district office. Returning to the tow truck the driver added another 100 dollars because i was "taking too long" 300 dollars later we were unhooked and we hightailed it home feeling very abused . we wrote letters to both apple and ATT protesting our treatment Steve Jobs office called us right away appalled at the story and offered to contact At&t on our behalf a week later we got a call from At&t their position was "since we did not purchase anything that day we were not "customers" and we deserved the tow . fortunately for us a small claims court did not agree with their Alice in Wonderland point of view and returned our money to us . I have always maintained that At&T who regards you as a captive slave to the cancelation penalty was the worst partner Apple could have chosen. They are Obtuse with Corpthink and give bare lip service to customer service putting it on the back burner to their policy book (written for their benefit not the customer.

Also ZACH i heard the antique word bloviator used friday night in an NPR All Things Considered report this means to me your going mainstream buddy! you have revived a lexicon!!!

in Apple and Markets Slaves to the Indices or Mr Magoo? on Investor in the Wilderness
call me crazy but every war has been followed by a period of DEFLATION once they are over (starting with the civil war) unfortunately this country has been at war almost continuously for over 100 years. Im no economist but it seems to me if we concentrated on fixing our bridges (and everyones teeth) instead of blowing holes in sand the money would start circulating around in this country again with the biggest danger a plethora of surplus cheap consumable goods as opposed to an arms stockpile that goes obsolete and needs replacement wether we use it or not . the results of steering us away from war were clearly characterized by the clinton years prosperity and the results of the looting of our treasury by the current jokers illustrates my point i think quite nicely
you want to stop inflation stop waging war and put everybody to work making stuff we actually want .
