I must go back and have another look at this tool - I don't think I realised you could use it with documents.

Re: NCSL Primary SLICT

"In your opinion what is the most important aspect of successfully leading ICT / Edtech in a school?"

Start with the learning, concentrate on the teaching and keep the technology in third place behind the first two. Hopefully your staff understand (at least a bit!) about learning and teaching, so start where they are.

Also model good practice. For example, get the staff signed up to your blog and let them see the power of self-refection and community support through your posts.

Re: Lesson Observation Today!

I thought this was such a brilliant idea that I gave it a brief write up on my blog.

Thanks for sharing.

Re: Newspaper clipping generator

Thanks for the trackback. It's good to see how different people use this stuff. I'm glad your pupils like it. It is such a simple idea, dead easy to use and yet has loads of potential for all sorts of educational uses.

Re: Outdoor Quadrilaterals

Have you seen Tom Barrett's Flickr group for this sort of thing: http://www.flickr.com/groups/904467@N23/

Re: What is ‘digital literacy’? It also looks like there is a strong emphasis on systems (aka Windows operating systems!) and business applications (aka Microsoft Office). It may be that the "Computer Security and Privacy" and the "Digital Lifestyles" courses are more interesting but it is difficult to say for sure as the course outline you can view on the web is very light on detail. For example, Information literacy ideas might be there in the Computer Security and Privacy course, but it is hard to tell from the outline. In theory I should be able to look at the course outline (in more detail?) in Word format... but what I actually get is the opportunity to download an exe file - not much use on a Mac. I tried launching the online assessment - but it doesn't work with Firefox on a Mac. I could go to a Windoze machine and investigate this a bit further... but it has to be said I'm not inspired to try.

Conspicuous by its absence is any mention of social networking/Web 2.0/Read-Write web stuff. Also, the Digital Lifestyles course seems big on "Explain", "Describe" and "Identify" but lack any mention of "Create"!

We are currently looking at the Digital Cre8tor course. Do you have any experience/thoughts on that course?

Re: Using del.icio.us to synchronise bookmarks & find new, exciting stuff

I like your elearnr paper on delicious. (And I like the concept of iPaper - I'll need to investigate it further.) What is the copyright position of the elearner document? Is it OK for me to print it and give it to students. Since, it gives you embed codes, I'm guessing it's OK to include it in my blog or post it to the VLE. Is that OK?

I was surprised (and I guess slightly pleased) to see my guide to delicious referred to at the end of Jon Hoff's presentation. I am embarrassed at how out of date it is and as delicious has improved and developed I have felt increasingly dissatisfied with my guide as it currently exists. A new version is clearly needed and I hope to get on it soon... or at least, soonish.
