I "traded" my "S" key shortcut and my "View Orientation" key shortcut. Since my left hand has to move between the keyboard and SpacePilot, I found myself always looking down at my keyboard for the "S" key. I can hit the Spacebar every time without looking. I very seldom used the "View Orientation" anyway, with Ctrl-1, Ctrl-2, etc available.

This little trade increased my workflow even more. I work so fast now, I can generally leave work about 2 hours before I get there :)

If you go to the Kansas City SolidWorks User Group website (kcswug.com), Wayne put his Most Excellent SWW2007 Sheetmetal Presentation in a zip file you can download. On page 107 of that presentation (did I mention how excellent it was?) there is a description of a method to extract flat pattern dimensions. I know it's not "automatic," but it is parametric, so there is certainly value in that.

What I just noticed in SW2008 - if you select the cylindrical face first, this trick doesn't work....the "Normal To" button is grayed out. You have to hit the button, then select the face. In SW2007, it works either way....

I like the fact that, with the Internet, you have the capability of learning virtually anything right at your fingertips. Awesome!
