in Robert and Rocky ride again at Rackspace on Scobleizer
congratulations on your new gig Robert. Nice talking with you at Northern Voice.
Are you also going to talk about green technology at Building43?
Will you cover technology & politics?
If you are here's a story you might be interested in by one of my coaching clients who's an IT consultant. She used flickr to expose how a US senator left his website directories open to everyone including a database that was eventually found out to contain confidential donor information of thousands of people.

in Interviews: phone, email — which is best? on Mathew's comments
Jason is the grand master of link baiting. Usually he has interesting content so it's not just hype. But it's true, it is ironic that a magazine calling itself wired and promoting all things digital is afraid to do an interview via digital means.
He mentioned you and the Globe and Mail in his most recent podcast http://www.calacanis.com/2007/04/24/calacanisca...
although he didn't know how to pronounce the mail part.
Plus he said he's not sure who read the paper. Don't know if he really believe's it, or is just trolling for a Canadian reaction for link generation purposes.
he mentions you about 44-45 minutes in the podcast.
He says you're now an A list blogger.

in Do A-list bloggers have a responsibility to link to others? on Scobleizer
A listers have the opportunity to link to others but as free human beings they can do what they want.
Smart A listers link to others as a strategy to maintain their high traffic levels, or as a welcome side effect of doing so.
If someone links to your blog you're more likely to read theirs and possibly comment on it or link to it. If that linker drives a lot of traffic to your blog, that would increase the likelyhood of that happening. It's not easy to stay on the A list when most people want to get there and there is turnover. Blog in a bubble to long and you may lose your A list status.
My blog http://adultaddstrengths.com focuses on adults with attention surplus condition, or as Jacob Stewart has said " "high availability multi thread asynchronous task and associative processing skills""
more commonly known as attention deficit disorder.
I try to show the side of ADHD that is often missed, the advantages of having it such as being highly creative, higher energy levels, rapid processing mind, the ability to hyperfocus and multitask etc.

in Clearing Out Stuff on odd time signatures
wow looks so neat!
I don't think clutter free is a goal for everyone, but as Ed Hallowell says "organized enough" is a reachable target for most of us. Under control is definitely a better feeling than out of of control which for some ADDers is the default situation.

in The suits vs. the geeks on Scobleizer
When I was selling Macs, the people who came in with the suits usually often were the ones who bought the cheapest things in the store.
The people who came in dressed like they were going to the beach (sometimes like they lived on it) were the people that spent the most, and if you treated them right they came back for more.
More than a few of them told me they went to other stores but were ignored by the salespeople because the way they dressed, even though they had a lot of money to spend and were ready to buy on the spot.
Since I didn't dismiss them for the way they dressed, they were happy to find someone willing to take their money.
Often wearing a suit is just a sign that you work at a job where you don't have the power to decide to wear whatever you want. It's kind of a lack of status symbol here on the west coast.

in Nice suckup, Guy! on Scobleizer
Hey Robert,
Guy's been doing well for a novice blogger.
He's been blogging for less than 2 months and already has 1,567 sites linking to him in Technorati vs your 3793, and he isn't even out of google's sandbox yet. Is that some kind of record?
He may learn some tips on blogging from you but I don't think he needs you to teach him how to build a user movement.
"Kawasaki is credited as being one of the first to use evangelical methods to promote a computer brand."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_evangelist
might have something to do with it.
As someone who's read and benefitted from some of his tips for spreading the light (Macintosh), you might learn a few tips about developing a user movement from Guy. Of course, you have a more difficult product to sell:)
