Sounds like a great place and house. I miss Virginia at times. I was up in NoVa, though. That house looks like a peaceful place for your family. Good luck!

Feel better soon, pal. And while Charlotte's nice, I sure miss the snow we had while in NoVa and Jersey! A fresh coat of snow is sure nice from time to time. All we get is cold rain down here.

Racial? Not my intention. Look what country is bordering on the south, that's all I was referring to. Not a derogatory slam on them.

Somehow I don't think Mexican immigrants trying to get a minimum wage job are as much of a threat as extremists flying commercial airplanes into skyscrapers in Manhattan. I don't condone illegal immigration, but I don't think most of them are terrorists.

Wow, just wow. I'm surprised I am the first to say terrorism. Have we forgotten 9/11 so quickly? Sorry, but I fail to see how paying for more at the pump is more important than keeping vicious murderers out of our country. This has nothing to do with whether you support the Iraq war or this administration, it's a general topic, and protecting the American way of life has to be No. 1.

in Smoke Free Day 1: Oh the Horrors! on Technosailor
Stick with it, Aaron. You can do it and will thank yourself later! I've never smoked in my life, but I've lost family members due to smoking, so I've seen what it does to you (and that's enough reason to never touch a cigarette).

in Comment Spammers Getting Smart on Technosailor
I use MT Blacklist with my site and am getting hit with a spam URL and then some random characters after it. It's hard to block this stuff since it's truly random and gets past a lot of the blacklist rules.

in Rant: Oh the Ignorance on Technosailor
Amen, Aaron, amen. When minorities cry racism, it's usually reverse racisim on their part. Too many people find it easy to accept a poor quality of life and never work hard, apply themselves, and realize that the only people holding them down are themselves and their surroundings.

P.S. Aaron: Could you IM me on MSN? I think I lost your address when I switched clients. Thanks.

ROFLMAO, Aaron ... I think the person was drunk themselves writing that, especially the end. It reminds me of horribly-written foreign spam trying to be American.

Aaron, I hope everything comes out okay and it's nothing serious. :/
I like the new theme, although it's way too narrow on my 20" cinema display. :)

Now they just need remove ActiveX support so the masses of non-savvy users don't get inundated with spyware like they are now. That's why alternative browsers are so secure in part — they don't support ActiveX and therefore spyware can't be easily installed.

Alternatively, there is a nifty OS X Tiger Dashboard widget that does this. In my setup, I tap F2 and can get traffic conditions (not that I really need them as I work at home). :)

When I saw Vienna, I thought Vienna, VA, my hometown (although only until this summer, when I will anxiously move to Charlotte). LOL. :)

She is a vegetable according to my defintion; it is totally up to how you define it. To be a vegetable, you don't need to be on life support, IMO. She may have some brain activity, but it isn't translating into anything and never will. The bottom line is it should be up to the husband, whose wishes happen to coincide with her's, not the parents, who continue to cling to a false hope.
As insensitive as it may sound, I don't think it is once you take into account her wishes and the fact that she's been in the same state for so long. It's more torturous to have to continue to be like that than have her rest in peace.

She has been a vegetable for FIFTEEN YEARS. She's not going to miraculously recover. She's not dying, but she's not getting better. Never in recorded scientific history has that happened. So let's be realistic. If her wishes were not to be left living like that and her husband doesn't want to see her like that, then I definitely side with the husband. It is the husband who knows her best as he lived with her day-to-day, so his judgement should be most valued.
