in I Heart Pandora on BetterThanBlank
Hey, I had heard of Pandora before but never checked it out. I love it and I am really impressed that they are available on some mobile devices with high speed connectivity. Cool stuff.

in How fast do you Type? on BetterThanBlank
I type 83 words per minute and I missed 2 words. Not sure how I got so fast, I guess I typed a lot of last minute papers in college.

in Church Offices on BetterThanBlank
I wrote a post about this in January in response to one of your posts. I would amend it to add that office hours would be appropriate for each pastor, think college professor office hours. I get lots done at home and have never done well in offices, I have worked in a lot of them.

That is a great way to meet people. We have done that off and on since we launched. You have to do it consistently in one spot for a few weeks to get people to warm up to you. After that, they expect you. Its so fun.

in Weekend Rewind 3.2.08 on BetterThanBlank
Sounds like a big week. I wanted to comment on the baby dedication vocabulary. We have all but eliminated the Sunday morning dedications. We encourage these dedications to happen in our iGroups where the rubber actually hits the road relationally. Our motivation is not to clear something from our Sunday program but to bring a more intimate dimension to the family dedication as you put it. Its more meaningful and in my opinion it has teeth! What do you think?

in CCB Vs. Connection Power (Part 1) on BetterThanBlank
I am curious to see what else you have to say about the two. I have been participating in beta testing for CCB on their new version, you wouldn't recognize it anymore. None of these systems manage serving teams the way we need it to, doesn't look like they are improving it with this version either.

in Going Green Grocery Shopping on BetterThanBlank
Glad to see your thinking 'green'. Plastic bags are a horrible burden. Check this out:
Plastic bags start as crude oil, natural gas, or other petrochemical derivatives, which are transformed into chains of hydrogen and carbon molecules known as polymers or polymer resin.
North America and Western Europe account for nearly 80 percent of plastic bag use—though the bags are increasingly common in developing countries as well.
Each year, Americans throw away some 100 billion polyethylene plastic bags. (Only 0.6 percent of plastic bags are recycled.)

XP, I thought this was going to be a dig on a Windows machine. Actually, I understand quite well the joys of the 'XP', thats my role at IC.
How is that baptism trailer holding up? I was so pleased with it when it was done.

in Church Building Myths on BetterThanBlank
Alex, I really appreciate what you are saying with each one of your points. I remember those days talking about how great it would be to be in our own building but deep down I knew it would have its own issues. I especially appreciate the comment about having an office! I know about these things, I have worked in several. A church is the last place to have 'offices' in the conventional sense. I could go on, but I will leave your commenting space in peace. I need to come check out the new place, maybe this week?
