in Cartoon Network's Kid's MMO and Mono. - Miguel de Icaza on Miguel de Icaza's blog
I don't like the last image, but the two first are very good. Seems like an interesting game !!
"And part of it has to do with the fact that Mono's open source engine allowed Unity to modify it to suit their very specific needs" => another example of why Open Source is useful !!!

in C# 4.0: var, object and dynamic - Miguel de Icaza on Miguel de Icaza's blog
I don't really understand the need for a dynamic keyword. Of course, being able to handle dynamic languages in the framework is great, but C# is inherently a static language. No truly dynamic language need a dynamic keyword ;-) I think it will make things more complex and difficult to understand for programmers.

migueldeicaza I strongly recommend that you watch Anders' presentation as he explains the rationale for it.

C# is slowly evolving into a multi-paradigm language. I say slowly because Anders does not like to add features to the language that he will later regret. He has historically chosen to keep features away from the language until all of its implications are understood.

The case for dynamic is pretty straightforward I think. Each side has benefits for productivity, and in a world where you must interoperate with other systems (the web, xml, rest services, json, untyped collections) adding dynamic support into the language means less frustration.

Additionally, every time someone needs to invoke something dynamically, there is a chance that he might introduce errors due to not covering all the possible use cases that might arise in real life. By having the compiler take over this job, hopefully there will be less bugs in this area.

in Welcome to the United States! on Climb to the Stars

Well, this summer I went to USA for holidays (I traveled from San Francisco to Seattle, pretty much the same places you went for now...), and I met someone from Switzerland, he was half Spanish, and traveled a lot to the states. He said he always preferred to say that he was Spanish, because they often didn't know at all that Switzerland did exist...

38. This sentence is a bit frightening... Now I'm trying to check the things I don't like to look if they are less than 8 years old.
Something to comfort me : If blogging is younger than 8 years old, I'm not entirely lost, because I think it is a fine "invention".

Well, I think it would be impossible to begin any simple action, thinking that we could not be able to finish it because of this possibility of death... So I think that we are able to be aware of it, but not to really consider it.

For example, I sometimes fly with some of my friends (although i'm not a pilot myself), and I'm aware that VFR airplanes can crash, but I never really think of it while flying.

You are right. Each of our actions are (hopefully) neglecting this possibility.

Sorry, but it should be "that we will die"...
