in imitation sun. on Imitation Sun
Musically, it is there. The influence of Mark Ibold on bass maybe?
Lyrically, to me, there's something very Olde World about it... Maybe 80s French.

in The Plumber, the end of an era on Alice Feiring
Just reading this now...
I spent my morning on Tuesday with a brand spanking new throne of my own (I had my airport hooked up I could've been reading this at the time!)
Mine too had had a leak and had to be pulled out and replaced. What is it about this time of October breaks wino's commodes? And so for what it's worth I don't like my new one as much as my old one.
Was going to facebook about it but thought that no one would care to listen. Next time I won't think twice. Thanks for sharing.

in Wine Blog Wednesday - Casa de Santar - Part 2 on Catavino
Yes! I LOVE the Casa de Santar 03 -- the ultimate food pairing wine. It's like tapas in a bottle. Or something like that.
Anyway "I Loved" is more like it since there is no more left. Glad to hear the 04s are picking up where the 03s left off!

in Reminder for WBW #38 - Portuguese Table Wines on Catavino
Hi Ryan,
Looking forward to tomorrow.
I see you mention Palmela as a DO within the Sebutal Peninsula. Do you have a complete list of all Portuguese DOs compiled somewhere? I'm not clear on what regions and subregions are also DOs.
Thanks,
Marcus

in Wine - 2006 Babich Sauvignon Blanc on Vinifico! - A Wine Blog
I'm looking forward to a chance at the new Babich. I enjoyed the 2005.
If you can find the Isabel Estate SB, it is so worth the extra buck or two. The 2005 vintage is fantastic and even designed to age a bit. I consider it the Marlborough packleader, even edging out the Babich.

in 2003 Ramos-Pinto Douro Duas Quintas on Catavino
I love this Portuguese red. So well-balanced and smooth. It may be a bit light but it has a nice deft touch.
