I'd like to run this on several sites. The No-Follow was important to me so that I'm not displaying "paid" ads to search engines.

Re: MyADManager 0.8beta RELEASED !

Looks geat, I've been wanting a solution for easily selling 125x125 space without using a third-party.

I'm having a little trouble with CSS (pretty sure it's my end) but hopefully tonight I can activate everything. Two questions you didn't answer for my in the read me, and I haven't checked myself yet.

1. Does the plugin add no-follow to the ad links?
2. Can you oversell ad-spaces, and if so would newer ads automatically fill and run for their full time.

Thanks, I can't wait to get myadmanger running. This is one I'll defiantly donate to!

Re: Two polar bears are killed on Iceland just weeks after USA lists them as a “threatened” species

What a shame. I sure hope they've learned to keep the anesthetic in multiple locations.

Re: ABC Refuses To Run Ad That Attacks Big Oil

I'm not really shocked that ABC would go this route, considering they probably get lots more money from the oil companies, but don't they realize the impact their network could make that will benefit everyone instead of those few oil tycoons?

I had written and posted this ad a few weeks ago, but I had to go back and edit it to add the latest bit about ABC's refusal to air it, and the petition that was created in support.

Re: Thinking of Buying a Pellet Stove? We Can Help!

The other drawback to pellet stoves is that in areas where winter is harsh, pellets are becoming a commodity. Suppliers are buying out large stock of pellets and then setting their own prices. Where I am there are people who pre-bought 4 months ago and are still waiting for delivery. We just had several nights of below freezing temperatures and I know at least two families who spent the night huddled around a space heater in fear of using up all the pellets they had on hand.

The debate will go back and forth forever, but I still prefer wood. I use scrap wood from an FSC logging site. (The branches and pieces that could not be used for other purposes.) My wood furnace has a gasification system to reduce emissions, and wood stoves (which are burned as hot as I can to burn cleaner) work with or without electricity. The water pump on my furnace is highly efficient, and can run up to three days off a car battery in case of an outage. Within a few years I'll have solar and wind power to offset that problem.

The cost of wood has not increased anywhere near as much as pellets, oil, electricity or any other heating fuel. If it's responsibly collected, and cleanly burned, I much prefer wood as my source of heat.

Re: Man Goes a Week Without Spending a Cent

I'm sorry, but I too don't think this is much a big deal. I stock up enough food, and grow enough in my garden that I sometimes don't leave the hill I live on for two or three weeks at a time.

If I look back to the spring there was probably a month I went without spending money, and that was only to pay my bills.

My goal is to be able to live off my land one day, generate my own power, and essentially my only bill will be for internet access (someday maybe that'll be free). Personally I think that's an accomplishment. Not bartering and getting others to pay for your things.

If anything, all this guy proved is that he's cheap, but not afraid to let his frugalness negatively affect those around him.

Re: Wood Heat Rises Again

I still like my way of sourcing firewood. First sign of spring I head up the road to a local FSC managed forest logging site. Place my order with the guys and specifically asked for non-sellable remains from the site.

It may take a little long to get my delivery, but I know what I'm getting is the unsell-able scrap from an FSC process. Getting my order in early helps insure my wood has plenty of seasoning time, and since the site is only a couple of miles away I know I'm not paying high transportation costs.

Hopefully this next spring I can order a double load so that I'll have a full year of seasoning in the future.

I don't think wood burning is the best heating option, but from an economic view it's better than oil or gas, and when well managed it can be 100% renewable.
