your blog is definitely cool, but i think it's also fine to have a blog of "rambling narratives", too (like mine :P). i don't think blogs "should" or shouldn't be one way or another. after all no one is being forced to read them!

hehe. when i last visited sf, back in late august, i ended up visiting ritual a few times. but more often than not i'd be at mission creek, too, or the cafe that's associated with that theatre, i can't believe i've forgotten the name, but it's within a block or so, same side of valencia.

i haven't played lego star wars either, but based on reviews, it's quite a lot of fun. as for "why would you?", all i can say is "why not?" (and, of course, for marketing reasons).

fascinating article.

i knew scrapbooking was big, but i hadn't realized that there was a division between the "new school" and "old school" scrapbookers. interestingly, the way this article describes the newer, self-expressive scrapbooks sounds a lot like zines, to me.

i actually don't like the fact that facebook apps have publicly viewable "scores" (#s of users, etc), and am glad that other social networks (like myspace) don't have such public tracking. i think it puts too much emphasis on the apparent popularity of apps and widgets, and less on real value. furthermore, the numbers say nothing about *who* the app users are... it's just another dimensionless number to try to maximize, and it's because of this emphasis on the 'game' that has resulted in all of those annoying tactics used by unethical app developers to maximize their app scores.

awesome, this is one of the very few (perhaps only) "twitter best practices" lists that i agree with everything on 100%.
