in Facebook lets me back in… on Scobleizer
Scoble: "William, if you watched the video you’ll notice that I didn’t use the data that I got out of Facebook. Not to mention that I could have written down your email address and then hand typed it back into Outlook. Would that make you feel better?"
Yes, Robert, that is much better. Why? Because a human being did it. And that's what Facebook data is about: human to human contact. That is the trust that the *average* user gives to Facebook. You are not average, as are many who commenters here.
Facebook is about people having a place on the Web to connect with individuals. And most are *not* interested in someone scraping their data. I applaud Facebook for clarifying their TOS with you. And I am glad to see that you are abiding by their TOS.

in What I was using to hit Facebook — unreleased Plaxo Pulse on Scobleizer
Ditto to Mobasoft. The average Facebook user does not want Mr. Scoble to scrape data, any data, away from Facebook.

in Social Media Starfish on Scobleizer
Those who've been doing online marketing for more than five years know these sorts of charts and graphs and pictures come and go. Whether it's they're called portals or search engines or social networks - no matter. The REAL wonder of all of this for me is the connection of *individuals*: the power of social web means the individual is the powerful one. And that is the "new" yet "old" web. Very exciting times. Very exciting!

in Dodgeball? Jotspot? Jaiku! on Scobleizer
What about Pownce? Jaiku with Google makes me want to peacefully leave Pownce. Love the file sharing at Pownce: photos, videos, links, events but Jaiku has as well. LOVE the little photo is a post element. Jaiku is stronger in Asia and Europe and while I don't think it will *kill* Twitter, it might *force* Twitter to do some things better.

in Why Mahalo, TechMeme, and Facebook are going to kick Google’s butt in four years on Scobleizer
Sigh. So many things come and go in online marketing, search engines, PR and the like. Those of us who come from a strong marketing background know one thing: you go with the market. So, ask yourself, where is the market? That is where you (and your clients) should be spending their time. Peace!
