in Cloud Computing Price War to come? on Scobleizer
Kind of scary to think of a cloud computing price war because Amazon EC2 just seems so damn cheap. I'm excited to see what Microsoft will announce. What I'm excited about is what this means for companies selling server products. Adobe has a ton of servers that do things like enalbe real time collaboration or streaming video. Layering those on top of the various VPS options would (seem to) be an easy way to get more customer using our stuff and only paying for what they use. Makes buying our servers cheaper (in general) and gives more people more access to them at a lower, pay-as-you go price point.

in Advertising in casual games on Scobleizer
Great interview, Robert. Watching stuff like this and working at Adobe actually makes me a little bummed out because I think we could be doing a lot more in the advertising space. Flash gets used everywhere for video and games. I really wish we would have looked at providing an advertising framework for those mediums.

Maybe we did and I just hadn't joined the company yet. But MochiMedia seems to be doing some very cool stuff and they're enabling the monetization of Flash which is always good to see.

in Why I don’t recommend Cocomment on Scobleizer
Well said Robert. I've been looking for a way to track comments and gave CoComment a shot after you mentioned it. But I had some issues actually submitting a comment while using it and that's unacceptable no matter how useful it is.

in Adobe ships Apollo public alpha on Scobleizer
@Stephane I had to chime in here. It's a bit difficult to write about things that have shipped with a bunch of the technologies I talk about (WPF/E, Apollo) haven't shipped themselves.

That said, I try to do just that. I interviewed Alan Lewis about their eBay application, I profiled the Finetune Desktop which released today, I've talked with the Yourminis team, done a couple of posts on the NYT Reader as well as Identity Mine's reader.

Expect more to come as a lot of the Flex applications get to the point where I can talk about them. The space is still so young and there are a lot of stealth startups I can't wait to interview. Thanks for the feedback though.

Hey Robert, great post. I can't get ZDNet trackbacks to work, so I'll leave this here - http://blogs.zdnet.com/Stewart/?p=276

See you next week.

in Is Apple sandbagging the iPhone? on Scobleizer
"What do you think? Is Steve Jobs sandbagging all of us?

Or, are you just sick of talking about the iPhone?"

Both :). I don't know if you caught this Robert, but there was some talk about Flash on the iPhone - http://weblogs.macromedia.com/md/archives/2007/...

They have to open it up in the end. Even Apple won't be able to stem the tide of people that want to extend their $600 device.

in Todd asks “why no hard questions for BillG?” on Scobleizer
Hey Robert, I'm not sure if you're still reading this thread, but I thought I'd chime in. You alluded to this a bit in your post, but I didn't really think it was set up with a format in which we could ask tough questions. If the goal of asking a tough question is to get an interesting, meaningful response, then I think that requires some back and forth. At the event, we each got to ask only one question so it would have been difficult to try and get a dialog going with him about something tough and interesting.

Also, I was impressed by the wide variety of questions. I think everyone asked a pretty unique question and it was fun to see so many topics covered by Bill.

in What to do when you’re bored: talk about Google OS! on Scobleizer
Exactly Colin. The Google OS is the Web. If you want to get more fine-grain then you can talk about it being Firefox but they have a lot of Google Toolbars installed on IE. I don't see any reason for them to do an OS.

in Good news for Internet video content businesses on Scobleizer
I have to believe that one reason so many people remembered the ads was because they didn't have to mess with getting the shows to play. With Flash, it just works, and though you've had your issues installing it with beta software Scoble, almost everyone has it.

in Why I don’t use Flash on Scobleizer
"Now, if a 'normal' person (non geek) hit this site"

Well they'd probably wouldn't see the screen you saw, why - because almost 95% of internet users have Flash 7 installed (http://www.adobe.com/products/player_census/fla...)

And with good programming, which this site didn't have, you can make the install process much better for the average user.
