in Is the big Facebook advertising experiment working? on VentureBeat
@ponziexplorer why should that sound like trouble? $2.2/user/year should be enough to cover their operating cost plus quite a bit more of expenses.
Do you have more detailed information about Facebook's costs?

in Is Social Media Making Corporate Websites Irrelevant? on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Fantastic story! I absolutely agree that campains should involve social networks like facebook these days.
I hope we will see more like this in the future.
Question: do you have figures regarding revenue/ ROI what this project conserns?

Good ideas. But key for the attention part is, that you have build of a big community before you start. twitter and Facebook only work if you have enough followers and friends.

Congrats, that's the first innovation in online advertising I've seen in years. I hope that will be a success and kick banners out of the web landscape.

Extremely interesting thought I have to say. I never look at it from that perspective.
But the difficulty will be, that you have to come up with a search engine that runs through all these billions of tweets, posts, tag etc, which one sent out over the past years.
who's gonna take care of that, Google?

I say they should start thinking about how to make money in stead of discussion the design, which is bad anyway.

I'd say that there is a massive difference between real life and the "life" online. Social media is a great innovation but there are too many people that do nothing than sitting behind the screen these days.
Go see your friends in a bar for a change, the mix between on- an off-line makes your life worth is.

I still see a big potential in Europe, as Social Media isn't a big issue yet.
There are thousends of bloggers but very few suggessful stories about corporate blogs.

very interesting study. I wonder what it would look like for Europe. Unfortunately you can't choice Europe at Google Insights as the continent.

in 5 Predictions on The Future of Social Media on Ignite Social Media
The problem is, that we have to many accounts. If you write something on twitter you should update identi.ca too etc.
I believe we will have one or two systems in the future that handle all networks. Friendfeed is a step in the right direction and SocialAddict is some sort of possibility too, but we are not there yet.

in The 10 Commandments of the Social Web on Social Times
Thanks for the post.
What's most important to me, and I think you mentioned that under point 10, is, that a social network should give the users the possibility of spreading informations virally.
Facebook offers many API that support viral Marketing. Xing a social network in Europe doesn't and that's why it is not working as well as Facebook in therms of Users etc.

I agree, it is a useful tool and the aggregation of all the other social media networks you are part of, helps to keep some sort of overview.
But at the same time I have to say, that there are already copies of friendfeed like Plurk or Plaxo and they are good too. So which of them shall I use to aggregate my stories in the internet?

Interesting article and good advice for building up a bigger twitter followers-community in the US.
My point is always the same. Things her in Europe work slower and that's why we are still months behind the US. There is no sound twitter community in the German speaking part in this world. So anyone out there that can speed up things over here is very welcome. http://twitter.com/psauber
