$16,160 for 16 tables? $1,010 per table? I hope they are made from Brazilian Mahogony for that price!

Stimulus??? Why would we consider buying school cafe tables a stimulus? You can buy folding cafe tables at http://www.schooloutlet.com/Tables_School_Table... for around $90.00 (with a 10 year warranty). Even if they lasted 5 years you would only spend $300.00 each for 3 over the next 15 years (if you replaced them). Why on earth would you spend $1,010 each?? no wonder we are all broke!!!

Maybe we should change the definition of "Marriage" from one man and one woman to "two consenting adults" The in a few years we can change it again to "2 or more consenting adults" Then a few more years down the road we can figure out some other combination.
While we are at it, can we change the definition of Millionaire? I have always wanted to be a millionaire. Since apparently we now have a "right" to happiness and not the "pursuit of happiness" as mentioned in the US Constitution it would seem only fair to me that we can change the definition of just about any word we choose!

But this issue isn't about how people define marriage, its how the law defines marriage contracts. This isn't for fun, this is for legal protection under the law. This isn't about the majority, it's about a minority that's being kept from legally obtaining the protection a marriage contract offers.
I spoke with a guy the other day who was kicked out of his dying friend's hospital room. They'd been together for over 10 years, he wasn't there at the end. Define that.

Tesha, Don't get your panties in a bunch, Bush was called "Hitler" and a hell of a lot of other names. The point is that our ENTIRE government is spending our childrens future. If you feel that is fine, jump to the head of the line.
By the way, I have already felt the "wonders" of the tax cut. My pay went up more than the aversage of $13/week. My take home pay increased by a whopping $14 and change! WOW, what am I going to do with such a windfall!!

Are you really mocking the tax cut you received? Truly? From this, I can only draw the conclusion your complaint is not about tax cuts.
I believe the studies show that when President Bush mailed those $600.00 checks in 2001 and 2007, people put them in the bank ~ (or paid down credit cards) ~ much of that money never reached the economy. The wise people said that by spreading the 'windfall' over the course of the year, it is far more likely to be spent 'stimulating' the economy.
But, those are just pesky facts.

I had a funny thought - these tax protesters were hosted in a park, paid for by taxes - drove to the site using roads paid for by taxes - were kept safe by police, paid for by taxes - and I'll bet some portion of them have received $$$ or benefits from taxes as well.
So in effect they want everything but don't want to pay for it....
