in GoDaddy Wants You to Go Twitter on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
It's really helpful when companies integrate social media sites into their sign ups. I love what GoDaddy's doing with Facebook and Twitter.

in Improving the world, social media style, on socialbrite on Scobleizer
I've seen some charities who have really had huge results leveraging the social networks. It's a perfect match- they reach more readers in real time, and the readers can view the content at their own leisure, instead of during dinner.

in The Value of Wonder on Chris Brogan
I find it really helpful to take a step back and let my imagination run sometimes. It really helps to step outside of work, personal life, and everything else and clear your head. I usually come up with better ideas when I take a break and stop thinking so hard about coming up with an idea.

in Apple’s New iPhone a Flip Killer? on The Real Tim Jones
Blackberry phones have video- not all of them, but some do. I don't have one so I can't comment on the quality, but the convenience factor is probably great!

in Apple’s New iPhone a Flip Killer? on The Real Tim Jones
I can never get the same quality from cell phone cameras that I get from the Flip or my digital. The flash is also usually pretty terrible, even on the iPhones. It's convenient to have a camera on a phone, but not a replacement for the real thing (yet).

Looks like a lot of fun. We should try to get the Jacksonville club together with the Doterati crew. Could be some great local connections!

in Why I Deleted my Facebook Fan Page on Chris Brogan
Wow- quite a bit of buzz over such a short, but impactful post. I found the fanpage too much to maintain on top of profiles, groups, and all the social networks. That, and I feel silly running my own fan page :)

in The Hand Carried Letter on Chris Brogan
Such a relevant topic, especially with the increasing availability of social media tools to make new friends/followers. I trust certain colleagues, friends, etc for information, and while I still am active on forums and social networking sites, I value input from some commenters more than others. Quality over quantity is extremely important when building and maintaining relationships.

in Paris is for Horses on Chris Brogan
Thanks for the suggestions! So much of our time is spent online, it's great to read a book every once in awhile. I've gotten a few great ideas from books and movies- and sometimes the strangest comments or ideas will lead to a great campaign.

in It’s All About The Conversions on Flowtown Blog
Traffic is certainly helpful, but I completely agree- the conversions are what make the money. I think a lot of advertisers are used to the CPM/CPC model, so they naturally track the results based on their traffic. The focus is definitely shifting to a CPA model, and targeted, converting traffic is the goal.

I am more of a night owl myself, and think that everyone has their own schedule that works best for them. No matter how much sleep I get, I am never at 100% early in the morning. It could be years of working late on film sets, but I am just not a happy camper- caffeine, sleep, or any other method of waking up to get going!

I'm pretty surprised Amy wasn't on Twitter already, too. While it is much more convenient to link all your social media accounts and only have to update in one spot, I am a much bigger fan of keeping the experiences separate. Each of the social media tools were created for different purposes, so while I update Twitter pretty frequently, I really use facebook as more of a search tool, LinkedIn for making new professional connections, etc.

Dina thanks for sharing with us; you are right they each have a separate function. If you can manage each I say that is better and kudos to those like you who take the time to do so! For those that link their accounts, the Facebook application I found below helps to manage tweets without automatically linking updates.

in New Business Card on The Real Tim Jones
So I just scrolled down to the comment form to tell you these are some of my favorite cards (I've only seen 1-2 other people with name business cards), and that Drew from BenSpark has my other favorites, and I saw his comment! I love unique business cards- adding photos, like Drew does, is the ultimate personal touch. Original designs are keepers, too.

Thanks for the comment, Dina! Yes, they are keepers -- that's the ultimate goal for me -- I don't want my card to end up somewhere in the stack to be stored away in the trash bin. :)

in The Next Media Company on Chris Brogan
I read an article about a barcamp panel in Orlando not long ago about how traditional media could revive subscriber rates, and step up to the next level. A lot of the suggestions looked at print media as a completely separate entity. I think print media could leverage social media sites like Twitter and Facebook, though specifically how I'm not sure.

in Social Media Marketing Example #13: Miller Brewing Company | Ignite Social Media on Ignite Social Media
I really like your idea of having multiple brand ambassadors to represent bigger players. For a company with such large reach, it would be beneficial to target specific locations and reach out to a fan who can in turn, reach out to others in the area. I know I'd sign up if they offered that in my area!

in Tweet Street: 7 Extraordinary Twitter Uses in the Home on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
I never realized how functional, yet insane some of the applications and social sites out there are. While I don't think I'll need to get tweets about my laundry or...from my office chair any time soon, it might be the way of the future.

in HOW TO: Simplify Your Social Media Routine on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Social media is pretty new, so it's hard to find the right balance and find initial value. You don't want to spend all day on it, but you do need to set aside time to interact with people to find value. Make it a part of your routine, just not the whole routine!

in How To Work Efficiently When You Are Your Own Boss on Marketing Business Review
Congrats! You accomplished one of the hardest tasks that comes with working at home- making a schedule and sticking to it. There are so many distractions, it's no wonder a lot of marketers who work from home find it hard to be profitable. Even small details like setting a schedule can be difficult, but the details are almost always the most important.

Hi Dina,
I know it was hard at the beginning, with the effort of doing the schedule now things seems to been easier everyday. Besides that shcedule I post it I have a more specific one for my task about my online business.

in How Do You React to Hurdles on Justin R. Levy
The most successful people are the ones who don't give up when faced with a challenge. They may fail dozens of times, but keep bouncing back and eventually come out on top. Glad to see you're one of those people!

I agree on the flash, they're horrible on cell cameras. However, you reminded me of a complaint I have with the Flips (and other small cameras) -- the mic SUCKS! I often feel like I'm yelling to get good sound on the video or it's like I'm in a tin can. So far, though, that's been a minor issue and I still love my Flips. :)
