Personally, and I don't care what the 'purists' say, I just enjoy the design elements common to the Web 2.0 movement. Give me big fonts, lots of white space, and a clear message. No more of that 4 or 5 columns of 6 point font crammed in so tight you need a magnifying glass to decipher it.
For me the acid test for any traffic boosting approach is the litmus test. Track the traffic from that source. How much converts? How much time on site do they spend?
Nothing worse than getting 10,000 hits where 99.99% only stay on site 15 seconds or less *flushing noise*
