Your first time there? My company had our holiday party at the Computer History Museum this year. Definitely an interesting atmosphere when youre all dolled up. I can't imagine how they don't get a little nervous about people drinking around historic equipment though :P Anyway, it's actually a cool place for an event.

They have a lot more bikes than you'll see at American intersections. That said, they still must be fearless, because I'd be terrified of getting hit by someone who claimed right of way. Maybe they're just far more polite than Americans?

Wow. Well, given the Series2 was $300 new back before all the ridiculous deals, that's reasonable for a dual tuner. Can't wait. Guess this answers the question at tivoblog.com about wanting a lightweight S3.

Thanks for the defective by design link. I purchased a NIN cd on Amazon that didn't play in PCs or my car stereo and Amazon took it back as "defective" because they did not list its restrictions. Their customer service was really great about it. It's a shame their DRM'd products don't have fine print by default.

Sadly, the MVSN folks don't give me much dirt anymore since I defected to TiVo :P

I can say that I hope whatever MVSN does for Netflix, I hope it's better than the current "Watch Now" streaming, as it only works in IE.

I don't do Harry Potter. But I read a healthy amount, switching between sci-fi/fantasy and mindless "chick lit". If I'm not reading, I'm doing crosswords... what can I say, I'm a nerd. The decline of America's literacy is a shame though...

Interesting. There were Verizon guys setting up Fios in my building in Sunnyvale two months ago (I chatted with them), but Verizon insists there's no Fios at my address. Sunnyvale also is not listed on that wiki page. Thanks for the link!

Nikon used to have a similar swivel lens on their Coolpix models. I'm still bummed that they quit making them, so I keep an old Coolpix as my point and shoot for self portraits with friends :)

also, this isn't the first kids' webcams. A friend of mine's 5 yr old got one for her birthday last year, and it's a hoot to see photos from a child's perspective. Lots of photos of knees, and unflattering perspectives of people.

If this thing could suck out all of the recipes I've saved at delicious.com/kimmie/recipe, it would be well worth the $299. Or OCR in all the pages from my favorite cookbooks. As it stands now, I think I'll just keep dragging my laptop into the kitchen...
