Indeed. We need more players in the wireless carrier game in Canada. Disruption is way overdue. But how do you get into this market? You'd need to be someone with the resources of RIM or Jim Balsillie. I'd like to see that action.

I don't think you can talk about this topic too much. The performance of your database queries or the elegance of your architecture are worthless if users don't like, or want to use, the product.

Of course, there are exceptions. Consider this: if the UI and UX are such important success factors, then why don't more people use a Mac? More is going on here methinks.

I got my invitation and installed Pownce. I don't get it. Correction... I do get it, but I don't see how using Pownce will be advantageous for me. All the features offered are already available in email, blogs, IM, and facebook. I don't think a simple consolidation of features is enough to penetrate the market. Who is the market? I could be wrong but I think the market is Geeks and nerds who are already predisposed to using best of breed applications for individual tasks. To be truly disruptive, your service must be 10 times cheaper, 10 times faster, or 10 times better. I don't see this from Pownce. I'm curious why Rose didn't put his energies into building a similar app for heavy Digg users. You know... to bring digging to the desktop. Doing a tight Digg integration in a desktop app seems like a better play to me since Digg already has gobs of users.
