The entire business is going to the internet, and yet the ET still has a crappy website and doesnt seem to realize (or care????) that without a viable and USER FRIENDLY website, the company will continue to dry up.

Look at Boston.com, best website around! Compared, it makes this one (ET) look like a high school project. Look at sports, where Boston.com has video, audio links, blogs for all the major teams, THATS WHERE THE INDUSTRY IS GOING. ET puts up rally north, which i like by the way, but its not nearly what the paper needs.

hwy have rally north? why not just have the papers website, but have it be a good website! they should have blogs for each hs sport, and a blog fo reach pro team and hell, even merrimack college. they have d1 hockey and are only down the freakin street!!!! they should have video, they should have audio, they should make it a MUST STOP for sports readers.

But every writer on staff should be known to the public and have a strong web presence. i want to see their faces (not just "i beat burt"). sports is different than news, and we want to know who we are reading. political columns, etc. should all have a strong web presence, showing faces, encouraging interaction. like i said, ITS NOT JUST A NEWSPAPER ANYMORE, IT CANT BE OR ELSE YOU WILL ALL HAVE NO JOBS SOON.

radio, tv and the internet is what rules the news and sports world. the papers that do well (globe, herald) have very strong websites (especially the globe). Until you folks at the ET realize this, youre company will continue to struggle and more people will lose jobs.

same with news. you seem to go into it sometimes with picture shows and some video, but its few and far between (you only seem to do it when you want to).

the paper is getting thinner, the website sucks.....yet myself, and other suckers, continue to subscribe and read. ill tell ya what, im better off going to the herald or globe, and im STRONGLY considering it.

Oh, and any truth to the rumor to billy "i beat" burt going to the herald? I heard he was taking over the pats job there. just a rumor, he still seems to be writting for the trib -- he has a story on this (crappy) website today.
maybe he is getting out while he still can.

the whole paper is going to just self-destruct and die, thanks to the malcontents to own it. You're probably right, some big paper, who actually has a clue, will buy it up and layoff almost everyone. i have read the tribune since i was a small child, it was OUR newspaper. today, i get my paper at my door and it is thinner than kids folder on the first day of school!!!!!! insanity.

I live in apartments down the street (by Market Basket) up on the hill. MC students moved in across the hall from me and are TERRIBLE.

There's like 8 guys living in a 3BDR apt. They leave their door open at all hours of the night screaming. There are drunk kids (like 20-30) running up and down the steps on a regular basis. There is dried up vomit in the halls CONSTANTLY.

And, the whole building smells like pot.

I've given my apt. PLENTY of time to take care of them themselves, and they haven't. So, next time I call Lawrence Police.

They might as well add Lawrence to the list too!

A friend pointed me to Craigslist, where there are multiple ads for "escorts" who offer services that I don't want my children assoc. with.

Let me also put it this way ------- my parents live in Meth. At their house, across the street in a pretty nice neighborhood, there is a group of 5 or 6 girls that live there. At all hours of the night, men drive up, stay 1/2 hr or so, then leave. Different guys all the time always escorted in and out of the house by the girls ------ WHORE HOUSE.

But it's okay guys, just keep beating the crap out of each other.

He had those records, but he had them because he was here so long.

He was a good player, but not the greatest of all time, as some in the media and fans on WEEI are gushing about.

I mean, I'm happy for the guy, good for him, but he's not the greatest.

It's just another example of how Boston sports fans over value a player. If Troy Brown played 13 years for the NYJ, people here would ridicule them for even having a press conference, "he sucked, he was never that great" That's what you would hear. What a sick freak. I don't think you can blame the college here. Most of these guys are model people around others, and just sick weirdos behind closed doors.

He deserved a heftier penalty, no doubt. Just take solice knowing he will rot in hell.

A relative is a prison guard. From what I hear, guys who mess with kids get it the worst in jail. He'll have his share of beatings, and things rammed up his behind.

He's 23, and he ruined his life. His life is over. Sure, he'll get out of prison someday, but what will he do? He certainly won't be using his degree. I doubt any woman would want to marry a convicted felon who likes little kids.

I smell a suicide coming, and the world will be a better place for it.

Neuville should retire from the international team. This will open places for young players. Klose is not the same player he was 2 years ago--he should be replaced soon in the starting lineup. Helmes and Kiessling are looking better then Poldi and Klose right now and they seem to have perfect understanding in the field.

Alhamdulillah..cukup jelas dan menjurus maksudnya..merah putih baju bukan ukuran kita,Dan baju itu cuma sekadar baju tidak lebih dari maksud baju itu sendiri..mungkin sudah masanya kita memikirkan generasi seterusnya,bukan bilangan nya tapi kualiti nya yang boleh merubah apa saja(insyaAllah)..Jika disaat ini kita boleh merasai nikmatnya air kelapa muda,itu pasti tanaman datuk&nenek kita yang dahulu..jelas kan?hee ayuh!!kita gabung mental,fizikal dan rohani. kita gosok,kita majukan,kita mantapkan!dengan acuan yang betul!biar setidak-tidaknya generasi yang lahir setelah kita punya jati diri perjuangan!!Allahuakhbar!

Bukan buku Hayy Ibn Yaqdzan milik Ibn Thufail yang kumaksud. Tapi, buku muridnya, yaitu: Ibnu Rusyd (Averroes) yang berjudul “Al-Fasl Wa Maqal” translated in English by G.F.Hourani “On the Harmony of Religion and Philosophy” in 1976.

Bagi pelajar Ilmu Kalam, buku Averroes merupakan salah satu buku yang berusaha menegakkan eksistensi harmoni antara religion dan philosophy in 12th CE. In other words, that book could be a useful reference for refuting secularism. And, of course, enforcing the harmony of religion and philosophy itself.

While, bagi usul-fiqh dan para usulist, buku Ibnu Rusyd adalah argumen tentang new decision-making technique. That technique is called demonstrative Sillogisme (Inductive Sillogisme). Saat ini, mungkin, teori itu dikenal dengan Descriptive analysis.
Averroes menyiratkan makna bahwa Sillogisme Demonstratif merupakan tekhnik yang reliable and valid for usul-fiqh seperti halnya Qiyas (deductive analogy). Tapi tekhnik Averroes itu kurang popular di daerah Ulama’ Masyriqiyyah / Timur (Baghdad, Iran, Iraq, Hijaz, dan lain-lain) until 14th century.

On the other hand, Buku “Hayy Ibnu Yaqdzhan” adalah Philosophical Novel. Isinya bercerita tentang komparasi epistemologi antara ilmu shufiyyah dengan ilmu ‘ulama untuk “mencapai Hikmah” dan “Hakekat segala sesuatu”. Ada 3 (tiga) figures yang Ibnu Thufail jelaskan dan dia bungkus melalui bahasa Novel yang mudah dipahami. Novelnya, asyik kok, kamu baca sendiri aja dan gak usah diceritain. Ok.

Tentang teori Epistemologi Shufiyah dan ulama’, kamu bisa melihat buku Al-Ghazali, Ihya’ Ulumuddin, di bab Ajaibul Qalbu. Atau, ringkasan buku Ihya’, yang berjudul Mursyidul Amin. Because, Ibn Thufail had mentioned Al-Ghazali name in his Book’s Preface/Introduction.

Tekhnik Shufiyyah sering dikenal melalui term “Tazkiyat An-Nafs” (Pembersihan Jiwa dan Hati). Tekhnik ini bukan berupa ngaji buku-buku, diskusi, dan riset. Tapi, it want to maximize human’s intuision, and qalbu/heart. Sufi have a principe that when human heart is uncontaminated by bad behaviours, its look like a mirror (mir’ah) of Lauhul Mahfudz. And, when it is happen, manusia bisa mengetahui hakekat sesuatu dan mendapat ilmu sejati.

Bagaimana bila muslim awam mempelajari dan mengaji sufism? Muslim awam harus memiliki Mursyid (Guru Sufi) yang terpercaya. Jika tidak, ada konsekuensi buruk dan baik: yang buruk, terkena penyakit Psycho-Neurotic dan mati; atau yang baik, menjadi cendikia saja dan bukan Sufi.

Selanjutnya, tekhnik ‘Ulama dikenal dengan term “Tartibul Barahin” (Penjelasan melalui Induksi dan Deduksi yang rapi), seperti halnya pengajian mulai Elementary hingga PhD.
Ngaji mulai dari Dalil, postulate, data, teori, model, facts; find something with doing research, observation, laboratorium, survay, interview, discussion, dan seterusnya…..seterusnya…hingga mencapai Hikmah……. ……

…….aduh…. aduh…..

There are 3-4 Harp`s in town.The one I frequent the most
on Garlnd Ave. seems the busiest and seems to compete
with Wal-Mart primarily in 2 ways:they try to provide
