Oh, and the beer, cigs, gas and McDonald's aren't too good for us either.

Government should work to help us realize the rational risks involved in "terrorism" rather than trying to profit from it by instilling even more terror.

Re: I don’t like trading this much freedom for protection…

Sure it is... I had the freedom to carry on a bottle of water, now I don't have that opportunity. If you want to get into semantics, freedom is the condition of being free of restraints. So, a group of people with power (government) telling someone with lesser power (me) that bringing water onto a plane is prohibited is limited freedom.

Of course, Kris Kristoferson would argue that freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose.

Re: Use Writely

Good point on the blog posting tool. I've tried Windows Live Writer a few times, and it is a step up from Writely on that front. However, having to install the .Net platform on my Mac (I'm not a complete fanboy) is not desirable :)

What I've really come to rely on (as you can tell from the postings) is Flock. It's a browser, but it integrates Flickr, RSS and blogging in a quite seamless format. For example, to blog on something, all I have to do is highlight and hit ctrl-B. There's WYSIWYG options or hard code. I've been quite impressed with Flock so far in that regard (and the drag-n-drop Flickr additions is a great tool).

Thanks for the comment!!

Re: Name Your Hungarian Bridge

Not sure about submitting a name. I'm joking about the trivial part, but not about the innacuracies. More proof positive that we need to do away with the concepts of "textbooks" completely in our educational structure and rely on primary and applicable secondary materials and teachers who actually know what they're talking about and are passionate about the subject they are teaching.

Re: Naming a Hungarian Bridge

"Eh, nonetheless, this is pretty awesome and a testament to community. You know that I don't think we can label the Faith with a capital F until after Nicea because of the consolidation of power that the "orthodox" purveyors were attempting to make. We'll always disagree on this point, but at least I have the historical record to back me up! Ha!

Along those lines, my favorite part of the Da Vinci Code movie (I can't remember if the scene is in the book) is when Teabing is describing the wars that the Christians are starting that Constatine has to succumb to, hence his adoption of Christianity. The fight scenes briefly show the "Christians" running around stabbing the Romans with the sharpened end of crosses. Maybe that's what Bono meant when he sang "Now you're turning tricks with your crucifix" in Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me.

Re: The Ginza Part 1 - The World Beyond

So do the Lutherans have you saying the Hail Mary in German yet?

Re: This Blog’s Focus?

Yeah, the limiting thing is a tough question. Such is the internets, I reckon.

Anywho, the SBC has always been after the CBF and I don't anticipate that pursuit to halt anytime soon. In my own heretical views, it all comes down to money. The SBC is a well-oiled money machine and is continually pissed that the CBF is able to divert funds from parts of major congregations in the South that would otherwise have to give the entire offering/pledge doll to the SBC. A few churches who are solidly in the SBC camp have started to outlaw the giving of monies to the CBF by their congregants, and I'm sure Jesus is quite pleased with that.

Instead of fighting over such pettiness, Baptist groups (and Lutherans, Episco's, Methodicals, Presbyters, etc) would be well served to read the Bible more often.

Re: Leaving Rextopia

Who is Lulu?

Re: "At my door the leaves are falling…”

I've figured out that instead of raking, I can just mow over them. Maybe a coffee mug or duckie as a token of appreciation. I guess that defeats the point in Ze's mind since mailing, packaging and sorting through that would require another 6 or 7 hours a day on top of what he spends doing and editing "The Show."

Big fan of BlogHUD, btw.
