Good for you! I've been an ovo-lacto vegetarian since I was a child.
It really is a lot easier than most people think. Though, depending on how serious you are, you'll learn to check food labels for things like gelatin in some foods, or rennet in cheeses, lard, etc. It's always a good idea to read labels anyway - it's often astonishing what they'll put in there.
I've been a strict ovo-lacto vegetarian since I was a child. I hate it when meat-eaters tell me "oh, I could never do that!", yet I have a similar response when I meet vegans.
I respect it, and will cook to it when I have dinner guests who are vegans, but rice cheese just isn't the same.
