Wow. This is such strange illogic. I also think it is dangerous to record such a wish for Randy in a public forum.

Love this! My hairdresser and I talk about everything from television preachers to renegade hair color mistakes which turned a long-time client smurf blue! It is a top o' the list destination for me.
Community is undergoing some change of late. Right now, I am getting used to having neighbors who are neighborly. We talk about food and family and yards and they always ask how my husband and I are doing....and about Mom. My nextdoor neighbor, Dow, hollered across the yard and hubby and me about PDA when we hugged!

Again, I want you to know that this post is great. It is concise, full of wisdom and practicality and, has great potential in bringing change. I am really not overstating this.

in ABC’s 20/20 to Focus on ‘Gay Gene’ Debate Tonight on ETC: Everyday Thoughts Collected
It was terrible to watch. It was like a slow train wreck...watching the reality of so many being simply stepped-over to embrace a non-substantiated but popular point of view. I felt a little sick as I watched.

in Critical Christian Critics Criticising Critical Christians on ETC: Everyday Thoughts Collected
I agree. Sometimes I am good at taking a moment before I open my trap. Rarely do I uzi those around me. My snarkosity is troublesome.
Well, this is good.

in Critical Christian Critics Criticising Critical Christians on ETC: Everyday Thoughts Collected
Are you saying that it is especially offensive for Christians to do this critical communicating?
Lately, I've taken a couple of direct shots of snarkiness from non-Christians (I assume) for my guilty-by-association connection with Oklahoma Rep. Sally Kern. AND, I've taken a couple of verbal (actually, written) hits from Christians for the same. This snarky stuff is something I am capable of.
Dr. Throckmorton has got me thinking this week in the challenge to live the golden rule.

in APA: No Consensus On Cause of Homosexuality on ETC: Everyday Thoughts Collected
It seems significant that the APA does publish these findings. It is significant in the interest of being really informed. If studies are being done and are being reviewed then we all need to know about it. It is significant in light of the cultural discourse. In the interest of being truly informed, we need to know.

Beautiful. However, your post's title started a Tony Bennett song playing in my head.

in Blogger Dawn Eden on Today on ETC: Everyday Thoughts Collected
This was not a bad segment! Wow! I am surprised that the whole thing was that civil.
I think it is brave for Eden to stand up for chaste behavior in light of her history of un-chaste behavior. To me, their arguments FOR of sexual liberation fell on deaf ears because Eden had already "been there, done that." I kept waiting for the discussion part that had to do with her book. It didn't really happen. Once Ms. Maeder got into the discussion with her head-tossing-gleeful-laughing-self, I saw it as a little bit mocking...AND the religious reasons for celibate living... well, I go with you, Randy. It comes down to a person's self determined sexual stewardship. Go figure that anyone would have a problem or question about that?
On a side note, I think it's funny somehow a book about sexuality from a person named Eden. Luv it.

I love to read comments by picky English majors. The comments tend to take me to MANY radio memories of A Prairie Home Companion and their love of English majors as a running joke line.
