The Gospels of Judas and Thomas cannot be proven were ever written closer than 80 years after the last Apostle wrote down his Revelation. Historians judge according to closeness to actual events. All of the cannonized Gospels were written within 100 years of Christ's death and resurrection, which would make them the best. The closest thing we have on the Gospel of Judas is AD 170.

It is HISTORICAL proven fact that the Gospels included in the Bible were written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. If you take into account their personalities, these books well reflect their own view of Christ. The Gospels of the Bible do not contradict one another, but do in fact give the entire story of Christ that they knew.

It is commonly understood among attorneys that several witnesses can see the same crime, but catch different important pieces of the crime. For example: The witnesses at the shooting of Poilce Officer JD Tippet (the officer who was allegedly shot by Lee Harvey Oswald on the day of JFK's assassination) all saw very different things. The woman closest to the crime refused to identify Oswald and the killer. Another witness said that Oswald was WITH the man who shot Tippet. So much is it like that with the Gospels.

Matthew, the former tax collector, would be more exact and detailed. He is this, giving even small details of the things Christ did. It is Matthew who sets down Christ's lineage through his earthly father. Matthew looking at Christ as King and Messiah, shows Jesus lineage back to Solomon. He also gives the most detailed account of the crucifixion. I can see Matthew sitting the Marys' down and questioning them for details for hours even days.

Mark, known as John Mark, of all people might have wanted to write bad things about Christ. He was the one who deserted the Apostle Paul, and then returned and turned out to be the greatest of Paul's converts. I believe of all the Apostles, Paul would have most likely committed the story of Christ to Dr. Luke and Mark, maybe telling different parts of the story to each. It possible and even likely that Paul was with the Sanhedrin the night Jesus was tried. He might even have watched him die. Luke and Mark, both converts of Paul, would also more than likely have recieved this story possibly from Peter, John, James or any of the Apostles during Paul's visits to Jerusalem. Luke the doctor and Early Church historian who is the one to set down the DAVIDIC linegage of Christ. To be a true Jew and decendant of David, Christ had to come through the line of David by his MOTHER. Which is why it is SO important that MARY be in the line of David. Luke not only traces Christ to David, but through the true heir. Remember Solomon was chosen by David to be his heir over his true heir Nathan.it is interesting that the Apostles turn to LUKE, a convert of PAUL to write their history down in Acts. So I look at the Gospels of Luke and Mark as the Gospel according to the rest of the disciples.

John saw Christ as God, and being the most beloved of his Disciples, John's awe of Christ would come out in every letter in his Gospel, which obviously it does.

The reality of the whole situation is the proper interpretation or "rightly divinding" of the scriptures." 2 Timothy 2:15

The Gospels and Pauls letters do not IN ANY WAY contradict themsleves if you put them into their proper Historical, spiritual, and scriptural context.

In Galatians 2:

1 Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also.

2 And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.

3 But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:

4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

5 To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

6 But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:

7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision (Gentiles) was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision (Jews) was unto Peter;

8 (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)

9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

10 Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do.

If Christian and non-Christian would recognize this historical separating of the Jewish Church and Genitle Church, most of the common problems would be solved. It explains why Paul taught Salvation by grace through faith alone, and the other Apostles taught repentance + works. Jewish believers were looking for Christ to return and set up the Kingdom promised to Abraham. The Gentiles were not promised this, and Christ's ministry was NOT to the Gentiles. In fact he referred to them as dogs.

Matthew 15:

21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.

22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan (Gentile) came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.

27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.

28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

So Peter and the other original Apostles were preaching to the Jews and Paul to the Gentiles. Take all the little side paths you want and you come to the same conclusion. Study the sermon of Peter on the day of Pentecost and how he calls the crowd "Ye men of Israel", The crowd would be Jews who came to Jerusalem for the celebration of Pentecost.

Over and over you will see and understand, and Paul explains, the difference between Jew and Gentile. As Gentiles we look to the books of Paul and are not under Jewish tradition and laws anymore, but the Holy Spirit and the God conciousness that he gives us.

I saw it! Since I was standing out at the Dell Diamond all night volunteering with the Light the Night Walk to fight blood cancers, I had ample opportunity to glance up and see how pretty it was. I too am frustrated with the way the states treat those over 21 years old. I have been told multiple times that the only way to qualify for Medicaid is for me to get pregnant and or have a child. This is insane to promote people to reproduce who cannot take care of themselves let alone children and to penalize someone for making responsible decisions. I hadn't heard of Asher until this morning when I was listening to XM radio and discovered they activated the new channel line-up. To my great joy I found Shade 45 when I was skimming the new channels, and the DJ was in the middle of doing an interview with Asher. I heard him talk, and I heard "I Love College" and then heard him talk some more. I had to go grocery shoppin' and when I went inside I made it a point to look for XXL Magazine because he was talking about the photoshoot and interview for that. (To be 100% honest, I was surprised that he was white. I'm not ashamed in saying what my first impression was).

I love his style, but like everyone above me, to compare Em and Ash as white rappers is like comparing Daddy Yankee and Pitbull just because they're latino. Makes no sense. There is plenty of room for the both of them in the game. There is no cookie-cutter "Greatest Rapper EVER" kinda thing, and each has his own areas of expertise. Ash is more playful in his style, and Em is definitely more of a dramatic rapper.

I'm looking forward to both their albums. Em's new single shows he's still sarcastic as ever, and Ash's mixtape is, well, its lyricism is brilliant. Both are talented, and I can't wait to hear more of their music.

This was a good first try at micro/flash fiction! I do have a few writing tips. Hope you don't mind...just passing along what others have taught me.

1. Always put commas before names, terms of endearment, etc. Like this: "Good day, sir." or "Have a nice day, Charles."

2. Don't use exclamation points too often. Some of the places you have them could be commas.

This is a great article! I first learned of reusable menstrual options last year, and it was like an awakening. I immediately knew I wanted to switch. It makes me kind of mad to think how reusable options are often stigmatized and not presented as an alternative to commercial products.

To those questioning the reliability of reusable pads, that depend largely on what kind of pads you buy. There are many brands and types. I bought a few from Perfect Pads. They have a hemp core, and they are very absorbent. I was a little skeptical at first, especially since the pads are so thin, but they really do work!

I did not use the pads long, though, because I decided I would prefer a menstrual cup. I bought a DivaCup, and I really think a menstrual cup is the best option personally. The cups are not the most intuitive products to use, and they take some getting used to. I have to admit that it took me a long time to get used to it, but that is because my cervix is off-center and causes the cup to tilt. I have been able to use the cup very effectively, and I would definitely recommend it.

The comment about the child molester's looks was more an observation, in my estimation. I'm sure we all know that child molesters come in many different shapes and sizes - from the priest or church youth director dressed in a suit, to the skeevy, nasty, toothless street person who smells like a dumpster. If you look at most of the mug shots and other pics of child molesters, though, most of them have that glassy, 'who cares' stare. You can tell they have no remorse, and they show no emotion. That is the 'look' most of us refer to when pointing out these pedos.

He, like all of these other teachers (male AND female), who prey on children, should be given much harsher sentences than what is currently recommended. Not only are they preying on children - they are using their position of authority to facilitate their crimes. Punishment for these predators should reflect the seriousness of the crime, and, I'm sorry, but probation or a couple of years in jail just doesn't even come close to that ideal.

I agree, there are girls out there who will lie for attention. But I can't think of any reason a man would plead guilty to such charges if they were false. Especially if, as you say, there was 'proof' that the girl made it all up and took the pics herself. If you believe so strongly in his innocence, then why didn't you have a fund raiser to raise the money for his defense? I still believe that no DA would take a case like this to court without irrefutable proof to back it up. Cases like this are too hard to win for a DA to risk an acquittal.

The article says, "convicted of taking explicit pictures of an underage girl and posting them on MySpace, touching her inappropriately and showing her kiddy porn."

If he was convicted of all of these charges, there had to be at least a little proof to back up that conviction. A DA will usually not even take a case like this to court without enough proof to make it a 'slam-dunk' trial. Are you sure that your personal involvement with the family is not clouding your judgment on this one?

I still call my (almost) 20 year old daughter Babygirl. She was taller than me at 12. I still call all five of my girls Babygirl. They will always be MY baby girls...no matter how old they get.

Rayne is a beautiful kitty! I had one who looked just like her a couple of years ago. Unfortunately she was killed in our yard by a wild animal, while protecting her new litter of kittens. (There's a lot more to the story, but it would take too long to explain here). I ended up hand feeding them until they were 7 weeks, then finding homes for all but one, which we kept. We had her declawed, and spayed, and she lives inside. :grin:

Fair enough, Chris. You are obviously a much more reasonable person than I am, because if something like that happened to one of my girls, I would be livid. I don't care if a girl runs naked down the street with a rubber glove on her head, yelling "I'm a chicken!", that still doesn't give anyone the right to violate her body. At the point the girl says "No", the man, if he continues, is committing rape. If the girl is unable to consent (passed out), it is automatically rape. It is in no way her fault that some walking penis decided to have sex with her. She is not responsible in any way for the bad decision made by the male, ESPECIALLY if she is passed out. It was his decision, not hers. And if the rape took place in her own bedroom, she had EVERY RIGHT to sleep there, drunk or sober, and feel secure in doing so. He was the one who had no rights.

I may have been a little free with my interpretation of Chris' comment, so maybe she wasn't condoning his behavior, but merely trying to mitigate it. Fair enough. I read somewhere that cats, being the independent and sometimes shy creatures that they are, and not caring much for strangers, will instinctively look for the least threatening person in any given situation. And what is less threatening than a person who either does not like, or is allergic to, cats, and therefore tries to avoid the animal at all costs? The cat feels comfortable going up to the person who is avoiding it, because if someone wanted to hurt the cat, they would be actively trying to get to it. Non-threatening, scared or allergic = friendly cat.

This story hits a little closer to home for me. I lived in Warner Robins (the town right outside Robins AFB) for ten years. I only live about 45 minutes away from there now. I go there to do most of my major grocery shopping trips, and several family members still live there. Stuff like this scares me, because I still have 3 girls under the age of 9, and a 16 year old girl as well. I am already paranoid enough about their safety, and now....well, now it's worse.

I hope they put this Airman in jail, and put him on the SOR, when he gets out.

I not only joined and created my own profile, but as long as they were living (or using one of these sites) in my house, I also insisted on knowing their passwords to their accounts. Again, not for meanness, but for their own safety. There are some things on a profile that you can't access without the password to that profile, or the person's permission. Hence the need for their passwords.

As for the other blather about no one knowing he had a gun, or that he had thoughts of this nature - well, that says volumes about what kind of parental supervision he had, don't you think? His parents should have made it a point to know what their son was doing on the internet, and what kinds of things he was writing/fantasizing about. I keep informed about my children's activities on the internet while they are at home. I even still check the MySpaces of my older girls who have moved out. If I want to look on their 'space' and they refuse me the password, I will have their account shut down. They know this. It helps us to keep an open line of communication. If more parents did this, instead of worrying about being their child's 'friend', I think there would be a lot fewer stories of this nature for us to discuss in this type of forum.

Another question to ask would be if the 12-year-old in question had ever been left to watch those children (or any children, for that matter) in the past. My 15-year-old has a very low tolerance for younger children (well, really just her own siblings - she loves other peoples' kids), and I have always been careful not to overload her with 'babysitting duty'. I have had her watch the four little ones occasionally if I just have to run to the store for a few minutes, or left one or two of them with her for a couple of hours at a time, if I had doctor's or dentist's appointments for the others. But, if I had to leave all four of them at home for an hour or more, I would usually have an older teenager come over to watch them, or at least to help my daughter with them. She seems to be much more patient with them if she has company within a few years of her age to 'hang out' with while I'm gone. She doesn't get as irritable with them.

Also, the term 'suspended for fighting' is unclear. These days, you can get suspended for fighting if someone walks up and hits YOU, and you push them away to protect yourself. I know of some school systems in which both parties will be suspended even if only one child did the hitting. I think that is patently unfair, and if my child were ever assaulted and then suspended just because they happened to be caught unawares, I would raise holy hell with the school board. But the parents of these kids don't strike me as the type to defend their children for such a situation, and I wonder if the 12-year-old was even the aggressor. And as Violet has pointed out a couple of times - it could have been the 7-year-old.

Isn't there a way that these two could be brought up on capital charges? Does Michigan even have capital punishment? If Michigan has capital punishment, then couldn't these two be charged with multiple crimes with special circumstances in order to have these two animals put down?

I am no lawyer, but I read somewhere that some states have laws stating that if a child is harmed (sexually, as this should be considered) in the commission of a kidnapping (they took him to a shed, presumably against his will - ergo, kidnapping), that capital charges can be made, and the criminals can get the death penalty. Is this, in fact, true? Or have I misinterpreted something I read about a similar case?

That poor child....I think that in cases like this, punishment to fit the crime should be allowed. In other words, these two nad-rags should be taken to a public forum, stripped, and have their anal opening extended to their testicles with a blowtorch. Is that what you think is happening in this case?
5) You also said: "In America we are innocent until proven guilty without a shadow of a doubt." Wrong. If you are going to quote legalese, then get your quotes right. The standard is "beyond reasonable doubt", not "without a shadow of a doubt."

Or are you going to take my advice, and start a legal fund for him, and try to come up with evidence which might actually exonerate him? For his sake, I hope you choose the latter.

Ted Bundy had a college degree, and took good care of his girlfriend from what I understand; he even worked at some sort of volunteer rape/suicide crisis hotline, for God's sake - but he also MURDERED dozens of women. Outside appearances are not always a true indicator of the inner workings of a human being. It seems to me that YOU need to look at the facts - and stop depending on your emotions and feelings - in order to see him for what he is.

I think there's a good chance that just working there will violate her parole. When I worked at Domino's (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth) most nights during the week, there would be one manager (or older worker) on duty, and between one and four teenagers, to run the pizza line. My guess is that there were probably several times that she would have been alone with someone who was 15 or 16 during the normal course of business. A lot of kids get worker's permits, and get their first job at 14 or 15. I actually lied on my application, and started working there at 13, because I was told by my mother that I had to start paying all of my own bills that year. Maybe someone should check into the scheduling thing, and see if this pervert can be jailed. :idea:

It saddens and sickens me the way female predators (and they ARE predators) get such lenient treatment. I think sex offenders, regardless of gender, should be locked up for a long time. Well, I guess if his motivation for this crime was simply that he was worried about going back to jail (and he didn't want to), he was using seriously flawed logic, which just coincidentally actually got him what he wanted.

If I wanted to avoid prison, it would seem that killing several family members would NOT be the way to do it. After all, where do most murderers go? To prison. However in this case, it actually worked out that he DID manage to avoid prison, by forcing the police to shoot him. I just hate that it took the deaths of two of his sisters to ensure that he achieved his goal.

Also, Trench, I really love the wording you used when describing the death of this guy. "Police had no choice but to put him down." That sums up my feelings for this guy entirely. People die or get killed, only animals are 'put down'. They put him down, like the animal he is. Excellent association.

Parents should be aware of what their children are doing on the computer, whether it be myspace or any other site. My 15 year old recently moved to FL to spend some time with her father. I still keep a close check on her myspace to make sure she isn't getting too careless. Once when I checked, she had posted some pics she had taken with her new phone. She was fully clothed, but her poses were too suggestive, IMO. She had also changed her caption to list the actual city she lived in, and show the name of the school she attended. I called her immediately, and requested that she take the pics down, and change her caption info, which she did even before we got off the phone.

Other sites, too, can be dangerous, or offensive. My younger children like to go to youtube and watch cartoon episodes of Garfield, among others. One morning my (3 yr old) son wanted to watch Spongebob, so my (8 yr old) daughter obliged him by typing Spongebob into the youtube search feature. I was listening to their conversation from the next room, and thought it was very nice of my daughter to help her little brother. I heard the opening theme song, and figured she had managed to find what my son wanted........until I heard a string of expletives that would put any sailor to shame! At that same moment, my daughter started shouting, "Mom, you gotta come, quick!" I was already on my way, and was just in time to witness spongebob give one of the other characters 'the finger'. I sent them all from the room (my son was NOT pleased), and went through the first fifteen or so cartoons. By went through, I mean that I watched until something offensive happened. I think the longest I watched any particular episode before encountering some form of vulgarity was less than 30 seconds. Needless to say, my son did not get to watch Spongebob, and he was sulky until I managed to bribe him with VeggieTales.

Sorry for the novel, but I guess my point is that no sites on the web are safe until proven so by a child's parent. And parents who are not vigilant in this are just inviting trouble into their homes.

Things of this nature are not an 'inherited' or a 'learned' behavior - they are a conscious choice. Some (I believe, most) of us who have lived through such an ordeal, have chosen to break the cycle. Unfortunately, the few who continue to perpetuate these kinds of abuses are going to continue to try and make the public believe that they had no choice, because of their childhood traumas. Only those of us who have actually been there, and refused to carry on that legacy, can truly understand that choices can be made that will stop the cruelty. The bleeding hearts and defense lawyers of this country will continue to tout their misguided beliefs that "this poor guy did what he did because it was done to him." I call BULLSHIT! I think they all should fry, and then let God, in His infinite wisdom, decide if they qualify for forgiveness, since that is His job. My job is to protect my children. However, child porn is not only offensive, it is also ABUSE, and should result in the incarceration of all who are involved in the production, distribution, or possession of such items. Even though I am Catholic the only view I currently know of the rapture is from the books Left Behind. So when I think of rapture I think of the Left Behind books. I never really looked into the Catholic view on the rapture but it's something I will check out. I liked that you focused on simularities that we share instead of the differences.My mother and I do that and she's a JW.
