There are a few plugins in this list that I find highly useful for every WordPress user. By the way, there is a question: Are you sure that all the plugins listed in this article work perfectly in WordPress 2.1.2 without breaking anything?

Thanks!

Re: http://www.rev2.org/2007/03/06/yfly-aims-to-be-most-entertaining-social-network/

Thanks! I badly miss tool tips in Safari.
b). After heavily using Firefox for 3+ yrs, I've become used to "Ctrl + Enter" command. Why doesn't Safari support this?
c). Why won't the pics show up when I save 'em using the "Save Picture As" context menu option? :/ I've tried three or four times (.png) and the pics just won't appear in the Windows Explorer. :S

(a) and (c) force me to return back to Firefox, SeaMonkey or Opera.

Re: Pet Peeve: Why do companies still send me my password through email?

I'm completely agree with whatever you wrote in this article. Sending password through email is not a good business practice.

Anyways, I don't care even a few companies do that because it's my habit to use a 5 to 8 characters long password during the signup process. No matter if it's a big company like IBM or a new startup, I do change my password after receiving the account activation email.

Even in the current Web 2.0 era, I've experienced a few Web 2.0 startups sending passwords included in their account activation email. They really need to understand that this is the year 2007!

Re: Write Blog Posts Not Articles

Excellent post! I think that now a days, if we talk about a blog, people directly take it as a professional term. I'm surprised seeing mentality of some people.

A few days ago, someone added a blog to StumbleUpon. I stumbled upon the blog and liked the writing style of the author. It had many small posts that were pretty helpful. After 4 or 5hrs, what I saw was just crazy. Someone left a negative review about the blog just because it was a personal blog.

I still wonder what the heck was that. Do such people even know the proper definition of 'blog'? Just because a blog is of personal nature, someone leaves a negative review?

Activities like this make me sad about the future of blogging. If you look around in the blogosphere, the future seems to be really dark because most of the blogging-newbie types start a blog with the main goal to make money.

I'm already bored seeing hundreds of money-making-and-traffic-boosting-crap blogs popping up every day in the blogosphere.

Re: 2007/03/06/crictv/

Someone suggest the CricTV team to DISABLE the auto-play option. When I was reading this article, I was pretty happy thinking that Snipitron is gonna be the best social bookmark site for me. But, after trying their Firefox extension, I'll say that at the moment, it sucks!

Everytime I click the bookmark button, it launches MS DOS and executes some codes. The second thing that I didn't like about this service is the bookmark procedure is too slow.

Re: 2007/03/17/snipitron/

One more thing that I forgot to write in my first comment: Whenever you bookmark a website, the service caches the whole web page and stores the page as a part of your project. It's something that I'm yet to find in other social bookmark sites.

If they explain what their extension is doing by launching MS DOS and executing some code *every time* the bookmark button is clicked, I'll give it another shot.

Re: 2007/03/27/bebo-orange-mobile/

God! I've been a StumbleUpon member since Dec 2006 but never took it seriously because I don't like using toolbars.

I started using it regularly since yesterday and have found too many cool sites of my interest.
