in Keeping Social Media Social on Ad Your Comment Here
I totally agree that a key component missing from "the plan" that both people and businesses have for New Media interaction is COMMITMENT. Just like anything else, nothing grows instantly, nothing grows without nurture and nourishment, so goes every single New Media offering you provide. Thanks for a great article and please do include me in your future interactions. I look forward to it!

Thanks Mike! When it comes down to it, we're talking about relationships, and commitment is a major part of making any relationship a good one. Great call.

in Terminator Salvation - What Did You Think? on /Film
I can't express strongly enough how much I wanted this movie to be a good and positive add-on to the franchise. As we arrived into the latter-midpoint of the film, and in came John Connor setting off on his own (because of course all saviors of humankind do that), the wheels came off the train and something was created that netted TERMINATOR: Salvation a 5/10 in our review (2guystalking.com) for me.
I loved the effects. I loved the look of the film. I HATED the "whiteroom/exposition" scene with a white hot hate. I (who I usually love Michael Ironsides) HATED Michael Ironsides in this movie. I hate the VAST RESISTANCE ARMY of unlimited Ospreys, A-10 Warthogs, helicopters and munitions of all kinds and top the sundae off with a little silent cherry in the visage of a child named "Star" that when removed from script in all our imaginations, nothing changes. Add in a tent-based, outdoor heart transplant from Katey Brewster, the pregnant veterinarian and you have something that fate didn't make - a hollywood formulaic scriptwriter did.
No McG hate here at all. This was a writer's problem to be sure.
A stark reality arrives not in the form of another hybrid TERMINATOR, but that we must now wait another 2+ years for a movie I fear may never be greenlit.

in TV Review: 24 – 6:00-8:00AM (Finale) on Film School Rejects
We're going to be reviewing the last two hours this evening in our recorded "24Podcast" and I'll be sure to stop back by and toss a link through. I really enjoyed your review because - frankly - it's too easy to say "the season redeemed itself". Is this a BETTER season than last? Without question. Were there still hopes, failures and "what ifs?" Absolutely. i look forward to more spirited debate as we go along and thanks for the review! The 2 Guys at 24Podcast.Com

in Missing Out on CourtneyWatson.net
I have to say almost the exact same thing. Today I wasn't on until 7pm, which is like missing a day of work completely - and I hadn't even looked at my studio since Friday morning when I left for some short meetings.
I often wish I had a timer to be "in the office" and then to be out to ensure that the things we "miss out on" aren't something we lament. Thanks for the great post and I TOO had a renewed zeal when tending to business again this evening.
Cheers!

in How do you multiplayer? on Adrenaline Vault
Ahh, finally someone else that can admit that while they are an avid gamer, they are not a king s--- ultimate gamer. I, too, have a much better experience in playing what is "true team" play and can regularly be the recipient of the dreaded "PWNED" and "gosh you SUCK!" until of course those people are the recipient of the support services I offer them when we're on the same team.
Ahhh, gaming hypocrisy at it's finest. ;)

in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars Xbox 360 review on Adrenaline Vault
I don't own a 360 sadly, but I do regularly play Quake Wars: ET for the PC every Saturday night with a team of friends that are all in the same room as we venture onto servers on the "Interweb" and it's a solid staple for us. The downside clearly at this point is the lack of custom maps.
I do like that it takes a bit from the Battlefield series, giving anyone of any level something to do. While I'm clearly not the fastest draw anymore (which I blame on lack of gametime to play than anything else), there are many other things to do to support a team, create openings and wedges in defenses - a true variety of things.
I'm trying to imagine playing with the 360 controller with this. Wow. Are you playing first person or 3rd person?
Thanks for the review!

in Study says PC gaming alive and well on Adrenaline Vault
That this was ever a question is just simply BEYOND me.
When I look at the stack of games, that I could clearly make furniture out of at this point because of the volume, one fact remains:
I would game twice as much on the PC if I had the time to do so, than I do on my Wii (or other consoles if I had them).
The advent of what is potential "games that work in a browser" (like the storied BATTLEFIELD: HEROES arriving soon*) makes that an even greater jumping point for what is online PC gaming that has nothing to do with consoles, except of course that the games are promoted via the same general televisoin commercials that push the console systems.
Great piece, and I'm proud to say that I'll be PC gaming for a good long time. I just ordered a new XPS via a contact we have at Dell, so now I'll have a roving game rig, which means... (drumroll...) Even MORE PC gaming than before, while I'm mobile.

in Hi! on Adrenaline Vault
I wanted to congratulate you on your familial ability to "Game Together". My wife and I often have an evening like this where we head to a friends house to game each weekend on Saturday (normally Call of Duty Mods, Quake Wars: ET, Battlefield MODs, some other first person crap now and again) and It's something I'm totally appreciative of. Our 5 year old has found the grace that is "Dora and Sesame Street Games online" via their $14million website revamp effort and so - we're all quite satiated like the people visiting that virtual club in Minority Report for several hours on Saturdays.
Great to hear we're not alone!

in Confessions of a Guitar Hero Addict on Adrenaline Vault
I have interest in playing this game (I have a Wii, I've walked buy the rows of used guitars, wireless and not-so-wireless) many times in local Gamestops (insert whatever other store you visit), but the spectre of what is arriving later this year in the guise of "the all-encompassing Guitar Hero Band Pack" (that I've clearly forgotten the name of) makes me be the patient waiter that I have been for just about everything in regard to my Wii.
Tell me more about "what you would have done" were you to just now sparking interest in what is the Guitar Hero franchise and help me purchase the right tools and become a valiant, new Guitar Hero.

in To Cheat or Not to Cheat… on Adrenaline Vault
I have to tell you - I'd be the first person to scream "cheater!!!" were I to see you using one of the guides to "get through the rough parts" - but I would be the second person in line after you at the store to buy one.
The realm of gaming manuals, guides, walkthroughs and more has now become a complete arm for the gaming industry, as surely as they've created another controller for you to hold while gaming with the one that comes with the console.
The $20 I paid for my Indiana Jones Lego Wii Guide was worth it, because seriously: How long can you sit in an area, and jump and "whip at shit" for a couple of hours and have NO IDEA WHATSOEVER what to do next to "move on?"
Totally guide guy here, but again, just in case I hadn't made myself clear:
You are a CHEATER! :)

in TV Review: Knight Rider (2008) Movie/Pilot on SciFiCool.com
This show suffered the same CRUEL fate that Bionic Woman did. ATTENTION HOLLYWOOD: Write original or give our past vices some GD respect already.
Bionic Woman gives us the Daredevil-eaque fight in the FIRST EPISODE?
Knight Rider gives us - nothing of redeemable social value?
I would have rather watched the WORST flashback episode of the original than watch any of what I saw during this "premiere."
Shame, recreators, shame!

in Aliens vs Predator 2 – Requiem DVD Cover Art and Specs on SciFiCool.com
Does anyone relate this film to say, a really foul-smelling silent fart?
This was one of the poorest film launches I've ever seen. I do have interest in the "R" version of something like this and wish that they'd get it through the thick "everything must be PG-13" skulls that adult audiences can be market-collecting as well.
I envision the DVD as coming like I AM LEGEND did - 22,95 retail, a bit less via Walmart.
This will be another sad victim of "missed it in the theater" but probably didn't miss out just like I AM LEGEND was. I like that, I liked Wil Smith in it, I like the very subdued but negative perspective of the whole thing and frankly I think I'm preferring the alternative ending.

in The Day the Earth Stood Still Remake is About Global Warming on SciFiCool.com
Can anyone say, "Battlefield: Earth?" I completely agree that not only can this NOT be remade, but it shouldn't be remade. It's like revisiting 2001: a Space Odyssey or Alien. It's just oozing failure.

in Your First Look at Star Fleet Academy in Trek 11 on SciFiCool.com
As long as we avoid anything that resembles Cloverfield in this one I'm there. TREK has been DYING for a reboot for eons and this may just possibly be the kick in the miniskirt it's needed for a good long time. ENTERPRISE had some great vision toward the end of it's run, but the last great TREK I remember reveling in was DEEP SPACE 9. A great show, completely underappreciated that generated a true ensamble that continues to showcase talent to this day.

in Low Ratings Lead to Second Jericho Cancellation? on SciFiCool.com
I am still a very staunch believer that TIVO/DVRing is completely underepresented in the overall ratings scheme of things. I'm trying to remember the last show I watched "live" that I really gave a damn about and - could it be like MYTHBUSTERS or something?
Seriously, there has to be a way to demographic things like DVR or we're going to see more and more shows that have some great potential die on the proverbial "no-one-is-watching" vine. What can we do folks?

in Hugh Jackman Gets into Comics with Nowhere Man on SciFiCool.com
What a terrific blast from the past! I still have ALL of my NOWHERE MAN comics and would love to see Jackman spread his collective comic book wings and take it on. This and several of those other "off the cuff" launches were outstanding stuff when they were originally created.

One of the more maddening phenomenons in American television currently is the use of YouTube and other like sites on the evening/daily news. You know it's a slow news day when as July 4th approaches, they have to pull the video of some dude lighting a firecracker between his cheeks and the subsequent not-so-hilarity that ensures.
Ahh, isn't technology uplifting? :0

in I Don’t Like The Idea Of Fake Comments on Webomatica
I was going to leave a fake conversation here, but I thought I'd leave something to chew on!
We get a very nice traffic set at our site, TelevisionReviewBlogs, but commentary STILL continues to elude us in the numbers I want to see. So much so we've even started a new contest that we hope will start some meaningful discussion on all-things Television. Commenting = 1 of 3 Free Television DVD Season Sets that the 2GuysTalking TelevisionReviewBlogs is giving away. Check it when you can.
To speak specifically to your comment, I think that current television writers could learn and garner many great and "original" ideas from the commentary that I've seen on sites, in particular the Science Fiction ones.
If you review the vast majority of today's television and it's just a tired retread of something that's come before it and when it happens that something "new and fresh" happens - oh, I can't wait to see what they'll comment on then.
Thanks for your thoughts, as well as the traffic to our website - perhaps some crosslinking is in order! Cheers!

Thanks for posting a comment. It's always great to hear someone else's opinion. You made a great point, that it's really easy to get started with new media, but just like you said, it needs to be nurtured. The work is the execution.
