That could be the Ezine site. Since your site doesn't get shown, or (doesn't show up as highly), you could call that a penalty.

However it could mean your article shows up twice on the first page, your site and the Ezine site.

They don't think less of your site overall, it would only affect the content which is duplicated.

Ned Carey’s last blog post..Evictions Made Easy

Re: It May Almost Be 2009, But Duplicate Content Still Isn’t a Good Thing

Ann wrote:
>Google is not very good at defining which “copy” is bad and which one is the original.

Yes often Technorati or Blog catalog etc. etc. will rank higher than the original blog for an article.

Ned Carey’s last blog post..Lessons from Warren Buffett on Real Estate

Re: 10 Rules the Best Online Copywriters Follow

This is a terrific list but these aren't just for online, these great tips for any business writing or communication.

Good communication, selling, marketing, writing, salesmanship skills are just as important online as well as offline.

Ned
PS came her from Yan's blog via the comment luv.

Ned Carey’s last blog post..The Power of Positive Thinking

Re: As True Entrepreneurs Should We Challenge Duplication

>“Systems are duplicatable… people are not.”

Well actually I have never heard that exact phrase. With the right marketing and packaging it should be easy to fool people. And the price is low enough that people would take the risk. But clearly people would find out very quickly that they had been ripped off.

I thought that perhaps the license would not allow someone to resell it. here is a quote from the license FAQ
"Selling a copy of a free program is legitimate, and we encourage it." The seller walks away with cash either way.

Real estate investors are often told to say "I can offer all cash and close quickly" but is that important to the seller? To most sellers this just isn't improtant for the reason above.

However to some truly motivated sellers, speed and the assurance that the deal goes through are more important than top price. In that case all cash or a very large down payment can be important to them.

Re: Burying St. Joseph

This Guy is funny.

I grew up catholic but I never heard this until recently. I may steal your idea and add a ribbon to my blog.

That is why people blog instead of having a fixed website. It allows you to add more of your own personal touch. Most blogs aren't just about business it's about adding your own personallity to connect with your readers.

As to people who are clueless like JB, it's often hard to know how to deal with them. Sometimes we want to get angry, sometimes we want to help them and correct their errant thinking, sometimes to laugh at them, but the best response is probably to just walk away and avoid that type of person.

Ned

Ned´s last blog post..Evictions Made Easy

Re: And Now for Something Completely Different

I try to go for a walk every day. When purchasing you know they haven't gotten any presentations.

It still pisses me off though : )

Ned Carey´s last blog post..How do I Make Money in Real Estate?

Re: Why Paid Blog Comments are a Waste of Your Money (and my time)

I am with Jay. I tend to be a little more forgiving on comments. Sometimes new readers of blogs don't know the etiquette

I just saw a comment I wrote earlier this year when I first started commenting on blogs. It went something like "nice post. I'll be sure to visit again" Sounds like most of you would have sent it to the spam file.

Ned Carey´s last blog post..Lessons from Warren Buffett on Real Estate

Re: $15,000 Home Buyers Tax Credit Brings 15,000 Questions - and no answers

Tyler wrote
>For us, I only owe $3500 in taxes each year - so the $15,000 as it stands would only provide me $7,000 - the $7,500 free and clear seems like a much better deal…

The $15,000 is reported to be a credit, not a deduction. That means it reduces your taxes $15,000. A tax credit is a GIFT - money in your pocket. Of course as Jay says we don't know how the bill will turn out.

Ned Carey´s last blog post..Lessons from Warren Buffett on Real Estate

Re: $15,000 Home Buyers Tax Credit Brings 15,000 Questions - and no answers

Tyler,

Thanks for the clarification. However it sounds like the $7500 has to be paid back and the $15,000 may not (depends on the final bill.)

It would seem to me that (by your figures) $7000 that doesn't have to be paid back is a much better deal in the longer term than $7500 that has to be paid back. However I understand the desire to get a refund check of $7500 spendable cash now.

Whatever happens I hope it works out well for you.

Ned Carey´s last blog post..How do I Make Money in Real Estate?

Re: Social Media in Real Estate – Part 2: Facebook

Congratulations on our selection in the blog carnival. Well deserved. I had already seen your article but it's worth a second read.

Just today's I saw an article that the biggest group of first time home buyers is young people who go to the Internet first when looking for real estate. So your post is timely.

Re: More Google Street View – Baltimore, DC, and Seattle

Thanks for the heads up.
