in I'm up This Weekend on Vertizontal
I just finished a book last night that is all about forgiveness. It's called Left To Tell. It's a great resource on the subject!

Fell asleep during Polar Express, and I'm not a big animated fan so the Star Wars didn't get a look (the storyline in the previews wasn't very captivating).
The Cross and the Switchblade has been in my Que since the beginning. It keeps getting bumped down though. Gonna have to make that a point in 2009.

I've heard this works well. :)
Seriously though, can't help too much because my metabolism is off the hook. I could eat a box of donuts and lose weight.

LOL - that video pretty much sums it up! :)
Five years ago I lost 50 pounds on Lean for life. Unfortunately I have allowed myself to fall off the wagon and I need to get back on! :)

in Do It Yourself Church Website on Russ Hutto
Good stuff Russ. I'm planning on upgrading our church website to a hosted site vs. a free blog site very soon. We've already paid for hosting and domains, it's just a matter of getting it done.
Quick question, what is your weekly attendance and how many people do you have as paid staff. And how did you determine that ratio?

in choices… on transitionpete
First, congratulations on the recent news and godspeed on your journey brother! My wife and I are in the middle of training for adoption certification, and we look forward to a similar call in the near future!
Second, the second paragraph from your buddy is really where I'm at these days. We need to start looking for a new way to abolish abortions. I wonder if most people even know what would happen if Roe v. Wade were overturned. It would go to the states and then we'd still have legalized abortions in some states. This issue needs a real solution, not just another way to garner votes for either side.
We also need to start thinking in terms of "whole" life. Life begins at conception, but it doesn't end at birth. A recent quote from Rob Bell sums this line of thinking up nicely...

"The Church has missed the heart of God by speaking out against abortion while keeping silent about war. Both are forms of violence used to preserve prosperity. Abortion is prenatal war against the powerless child. War is postnatal abortion that destroys innocent life. The kingdom is life for the fetus and life for the civilian. The church embodies this life in a world of expedient and preemptive killing."

in Who Should I Vote For? on BetterThanBlank
I'm voting for Obama, but I'm not going to tell anyone who to vote for. We all need to be good stewards of our votes. The one thing I'll encourage though is to never, EVER, let anyone tell you that God is for one candidate over another. Those people need their christianity cards revoked.

in Obama and McCain Roast one Another on Vertizontal
Great stuff man!
I didn't see that stuff at the end of the McCain one until this morning myself. I grabbed a 2-part clip to replace it on my blog because I wanted it to be about the goodness of this night vs. the ugly.
Here are the 2 if you're interested...

I think rings are equivalent to warranties for brakes.

In business school I was taught that perception = reality. If someone perceives something a certain way, to them it is their reality.

Was is because he wanted to sell more magazines?
Was it because his dad publicly endorsed McCain?
I hope neither are true, but I'd pray with any and all parties if given the chance. It seems silly not to.
