Man U's first goal was against the run of play. West Ham could/ should have had 2 by then. and the handball was questionable, and clearly not intentional.

Man U played well early in the second, but faded.

I see you gave Curbs, worst in the league... clearly you have something against the East London squad. Because if you look at the talent on the pitch at present, Curbs has worked wonders.

Yeah he's signed some players who gave landed hurt, but when you consider what you can get as a team that nearly went down-its what you get. over priced and run down. Curbs may be a stubborn caution first manager, but perspective of one year proves his worth.

and the glimmer on Sven is dulling quickly... Elano has looked average, and players want out... I'd put money on West Ham finishing above City.

Re: Don’t Let Dave Kitson Ruin Your FA Cup Fever

BTW the Liverpool Scrooge angle was fronted by the SUN. Which sort of speaks for its self on many levels.

and Ipswich V pompy was just one giant joke today. Fair or not referee's see those big elbows swing and stop play.

This also effects his game as he is a bit prone to sulking, and getting lost in the flow of a game.

Was very odd not to see Owen. The 4-5-1 is a crap tactic. Trust me I'm a West Ham fan... It bogs down the midfield and makes chances sparse. and as for Upson's form. look at goals against WHU... then again why Robert Green is not England's #1 is just beyond any thinking football fan. What has James got to prove at this point? His ability to paint????

Re: Do or Die Time for West Ham

Fortune's always hiding...

and if you've followed this team for any length of time, you just accept that there will be patches like this last week.

But one thing not mentioned is that this has been a reserve team. Aston off the bench? Boa Morte up front. A midfield that changes week to week. The only constant has been a very good back 5. ( until the 8 they let in in the last two matches). arrrrgh

Europe will be in friendlies next preseason.

The real question with West Ham is if Curbs is the right guy to move them up the table, or are we doomed to mid table for the next ten years with a cup run here and there.

The other real unanswered question is now that the Egg man has gone, do we have the money to build the new stadium, and sign the players needed to break the top 4.

I'd say the Icelandic biscuit man best bring it this summer, or he may find himself as popular as Brown. This season I've seen Hammer fans leaving early, less loud, and frankly bored. But that may be because that since 2002 we have been playing for something, survival, promotion FA Cup etc and what a trip its been since Harry left.

2007-2008 is the lull, before the storm, whatever that might be.

Re: Arsenal Slips to Third After 2-1 Loss Against Chelsea

what no mention of just how fickle CFC supporters are... Curbs will have a look see in Toronto Thursday. WHU needs a Benyoun type player back.. Landon would be cheap by EPL standards, and could ease the return on Dyer. I just wish these films would put Hooliganism is its proper social context. Not, just cut aways to the tv with Thatcher moaning about it.

Pure tribalism, like the BNP, is one thing, but sport tribalism flourishes when people have no hope, no trust and no security. So they turn to the one thing that will always be there, a football club.

Would be nice if these factors where the storyline as opposed to making heros out of top men. Cass is a great a story, and wrote an excellent book about his days. I just hope that the story is less Football factories and its flashy quick cuts and rock sound track, and more his real struggle with racism and less about greeting cards tactics to punch ups, like Green street.

but then you have to remember that Cass himself always gets consultant jobs to these sort of films and TV shows.

I'm looking forward to it, just hope its not another remember the great olde days of the hoolis.

Re: Fox Soccer Channel Drops The Ball With Premier League TV Coverage

I miss Andy Houlihan. I want football. I don't want live coverage of the Paddy games, or any other game where they pick up the ball with the hands.

and I have a problem with the fact that I have to pay 15 bucks a month and don't get the internationals, well the England international matches.

also why no extra match today????

I didn't actually watch today, I woke up late and then watched the FSC matches, but what really bothered me about Setanta last season was the picture quality. Drop outs, sound loss, bad feeds etc.

FSC is not up to par and you did hit the nail on the head in regard to approach. Setanta is done by Europeans ( Irish) who talk about the game like persons who have it ingrained in their culture. While FSC, present the game as foreign and exotic.

Re: Who Are The Premier League Players You Love To Hate The Most?

Nigel Rio Coker... is a man best suited for Bolton. But Chelsea went from being a lower ten table team in the early 90's to a top ten team. They had the groundwork laid out. and of course they also had Zola. And if you look back on the first moves of the Russian revolution, it was for established PL players, like Lampard. Chelsea's Kaka was Steven Gerrard, whose main reason for not making the switch was playing Champions League football.

I like Man City, they have great support, always play an attacking game and give great entertainment value but since Frank Sinatra and now the Prince of UAE they seem to lack the luster. and just seem like a charity team of all stars playing for their favorite charity of all, themselves.

And every time you sign a Robinho to play for they paycheck, one step you get from greatness. and Bellamy won't add any warm and fuzzy to the mix either.

I hope they find their way.
