These nutjobs merely gnore all facts and discover new dark conspiracies.

Similar to the 5,000 year old earth folks, or the intelligent designers, they have no desire to objectively consider the situtation. Their egos are now firmly cemented in this craziness, and all else is merely evidence of a Democratic-Obama conspiracy.

Rather than reasoning with the birthers, you would have more success talking to a brick wall. Additionally, a brick wall actually serves a useful purpose.

Constitutionally, the US Senate itself is the final arbiter of who sits in that body. My guess is that the Federal courts will not hear this issue, other than to deny any appeal from Coleman or the Republicans. But, then again, we have the politicians disguised as Supreme Court Justices who decided the Bush V Gore fiasco.

The American Catholic Bishops lost the moral high ground long ago.

The American bishops countenanced pedophile priests. They enabled these same priest to continune their crimes by transferring them from parish to parish.

The American bishops were on the wrong side of equality for women.

The American bishops failed to denounced corruption of human rights in Latin America, and were in league with dictators throughout the globe. In return for favors, the Church remained silent and condoned torture and the trampling of human rights.

Most American Catholics now realize that the American Catholic bishops are corrupt, old men who are more worried about their own positioni of power than following the true words of Christ.

Is anyone surprised that McCain is now trying to avoid any kind of confrontation with Obama.

McCain realizes that in a face-to-face meeting, he will descend into mumblings, falsehoods, and prevarications. His lack of real knowledge of domestic and foreign and economic affairs will become woefully apparent.

In a face-to-face comparison with Obama, McCain will appear a bumbling, out-ot-touch politician.

A similar treatment is now happening with Palin. The McCain handlers are keeping her from having any contact with unscripted questions. The McCain handlers are rightfully afraid to expose Palin's lack of intelligence and understanding of any problem facing this nation.

Look for Palin to invent some reason why she too will be unable to debate.

These Republicans are shameless.

I think that Pelosi should gladly meet with the Archbishop.

In that discussion, she should discuss why the American Catholic bishops have failed to forcefully condemn the tortures committed by the Bush Administration.

Pelosi should ask why the American Catholic bishops have failed to forcefully to condemn the unjust and illegal war in Iraq. Why are they silent regarding the other Catholics in the Bush administration who instigated and still support this travesty?

She should also question the Archbishops why they ignore the growing destruction of the American middle class by the Bush Administration's economic policies. The American Catholic bishops should also be confronted with their lack of concern regarding the destruction of the American Constitution and the subversion of our civil rights.

In addition, Pelosi should ask the Archbishop what he did specifically to stop the abuse of Catholic youths by criminal priests. What did the Archbishop do to bring his other bishops to justice when they enabled perverted priests to abuse children.

Lastly, Pelosi should demand that the Archbishop publicly ask the entire Catholic congregation for forgiveness. That should be the conversation held with the Archbishop.

The American Catholic bishops have long ago lost the moral high ground.
